They are apologizing simply because they are taking heat.

You are exactly right! How many people at Lowes saw this catalog before and after it was sent out? Not one person noticed this? Lowe's spokesperson is lying. Not one thing would have been said about this if no one had complained.

The squeaky wheel does get the grease. No one is willing to offend the muslims, are they? Christians need to squeal LOUD and squeal OFTEN when this kind of blatant insult and discrimination is perpetrated upon us.

I’m not quite sure what to think of this. It is both a negative and a positive. I propose “National Gift Giving Day” for Dec. 31st. Christmas, meaning the birth of Christ has become nothing more than merchandising and a means to a prosperous 4th quarter. What is even more sickening is that the retailers don’t even bother to pretend otherwise anymore.

Are you ready for Christmas (Christs Birth)? -———————

Yes, all my shopping is done. I’ll just be glad when it’s over with.

We have certainly, along the way.......................lost our way.

Except for the fact that Ace has just recently gone PC, too, by changing “Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man,” to “Ace is the place with the helpful hardware person.” Sigh. Not only is it a blatant bit of PC, but it doesn’t even sound right, rhythmically.

The idea of a “family tree” instead of a Christmas tree is utterly ridiculous.

A "family tree" is a genealogy chart and has nothing to do with a Christmas tree.

I sent Lowe's an email just now informing them none of my family, immediate and extended would be shopping at Lowe's for the remainder of this year because of their “mistake”. I further informed them that their attempt at PC in trying not to offend the 15% of Americans who are not Christian has managed to offend the 85% who are and that their Christian bashing is now flying around cyber space more quickly then a California wild fire spreads.

I further said I will be watching their advertising in the future and finding anymore Christian bashing will respond in the appropriate and effective manner to enforce a change.

This “American Holidays” crap truly hacks me off! We don’t celebrate the Godless Commie Commericial “American Holiday’s” in my family; we chunked that crap years ago. As Christians we treat the celebration of Christ’s birth as a Holy Day of Obligation and attend the Church of our choice. If all true “Christians” quit buying and exchanging “presents” during the American Winter Holiday Season the whole miserable thing would collapse. Our one concession to the season? We’ve gathered a list of registered Democrat Party supporters and we send them Happy Holiday’s Cards with a picture of Hillary, Barack, Al Sharpton and Nancy Pelosi dancing merrily around a Holiday Tree festooned with aborted fetuses!

"That was a complete error"

You got that part right, Maureen, and I'll wager Home Depot is very happy you all made it.

Are you kidding? I went to several stores on Halloween to buy Halloween candy. However, the stores had already cleared out their Halloween stuff and were already putting up the Christmas, I mean holiday, decorations and playing Christmas, er, holiday, music.

Next year, they’ll probably start decorating and advertising for “the holidays” after Labor Day.

Someone better tell the nitwits at Lowes and the other devotees of political correctness that the word “holiday” is derived from the term “holy day.”

The corporate-think at these chains is over the top and pervasive. If you’ve ever been to a Sam’s Club when it first opens and have cringed when the staff are forced to cheer at top volume then you know the drill.

Why not blame the ad/design agency? There are agencies on every street corner - replace the old with the new. However, in the mindset of the company is sacrosanct...corporate can do no wrong it would never occur to them.

"That was a complete error," - Lie. This passed muster at Corporate, therefore it was a deliberate act.

"Right now, we're extremely disappointed in this breakdown in our own creative process" - Lie. You are only "extremely disappointed " in the fact you got caught.

She explained that the full-color document is called a holiday catalog "because it encompasses all the holidays from October through January." - Lie. You marketed this for the Christmas season. It was intended to display sales for the Christmas season - sales that terminate immediately following Dec. 25th. You would not be selling Santa merchandise for Martin Luther King Day.

"We refer to them as Christmas trees in all of our television and magazine ads and also in our advertising fliers," she added. "We take this situation very seriously and are redoubling our efforts to proofread those catalogs in the future." - Lie. Lowe's has little intention of proofreading anything, now that the publisher has been paid. This was an intentional Leftist act.

Sounds like this is Lowe’s wardrobe malfunction. Why worry about offending non-christians when they won't be buying these family trees anyway.

How Lowe can you get.

We could use these phrases as excuses to stay home from work. "Boss, I had a breakdown in my creative process so I am staying home today."

Boss: "How did it happen?"

Employee: "Well it started when I went into my bathroom and took my usual wide stance. Then I slipped on the wet floor and had a terrible wardrobe malfunction."

Hey Lowes! Did anyone above the position of clerk review the catalog before it went to press? The Senior Vice President of Marketing should be cleaning out his office today!

If you go to a card and gift shop (e.g., Hallmark) in July, you will find Christmas tree ornaments. At least, that’s the way it is around where I live.
