Consider the source (New York Times), but I thought this was an interesting article.

This is from the newspaper article:

One of Ms. Regan’s lawyers, Brian C. Kerr of the firm Dreier L.L.P., said she possesses evidence to support her claim that she was advised to lie to federal investigators who were vetting Mr. Kerik. But Mr. Kerr declined to discuss the nature of the evidence.

If this is true, it's going to be interesting!

How about the WSJ or Bloomberg?

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601088&sid=atCdjFIuoj6Y&refer=home

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB119499856219892012.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

Ms. Regan says “it is now widely accepted” that one of Mr. Giuliani’s vulnerabilities is the 52-year-old Mr. Kerik. Because of Ms. Regan’s affair with Mr. Kerik, court papers say, a senior News Corp. executive told her he believed she had information about Mr. Kerik that could hurt Mr. Giuliani’s campaign and she should lie to federal investigators.

Court papers say another executive told Ms. Regan, a HarperCollins editor for 12 years, to withhold documents that were clearly relevant to the government’s investigation of Mr. Kerik.

(snip)

In December 2006, court papers say, Ms. Regan was fired with more than two years left on her contract. The defendants said she had made anti-Semitic remarks while talking to an in-house HarperCollins lawyer, her court papers say. “This charge was completely fabricated,” her court papers say in bold print.

They say a temporary secretary who set up the call and remained on the line confirmed that Ms. Regan never made any such comments.

“Defendants knew their allegations of anti-Semitic comments were false and they were manufactured to create a pretext for Regan’s termination and further undermine her credibility,” court papers say.

News Corp. spokesman Howard Rubenstein said, “The claims are preposterous.”

Or the Daily News?

http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2007/11/13/2007-11-13_former_harpercollins_publisher_judith_re.html

Kerik, a former Regan client who also carried on an extramarital affair with her, was indicted last week on federal corruption charges. But according to the suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, a NewsCorp. higher-up advised Regan not to give up any “relevant documents” that could aid the government’s investigation into Kerik.

“Because of the damaging information that defendants believed Regan possessed, defendants knew they would be protecting Giuliani if they could preemptively discredit her,” the suit says.

Regan alleges that News Corp. used the uproar over the scrapped Simpson book - in which the ex-gridiron great seemingly confessed to killing his ex-wife and pal Ron Goldman - to scapegoat her as an “unethical businesswoman devoid of any integrity.”

She accuses News Corp. of using the New York Post and Fox News Channel to trash her reputation, and of planting “outrageous” propaganda in a New York Times story about how she was fired over anti-Semitic comments made during a phone call with a HarperCollins lawyer.

“This charge was completely fabricated,” the suit says.

Well for one thing it is impossible to ‘smear’ someone like Judith Regan, the vicious lying slut who sleeps around with married men and who tried to publish OJ’s boastful “murder manual”...... what is not in dispute is that she is a whore, a liar, and a shameless opportunist who was happy to cash in on OJ’s notoriety, even when it meant promoting his murder manual and inflicting even more depravity upon our society and misery upon those families.

As for any FoxNews exec who might or might not have said what she claims, it wouldn’t surprise me, but Judith Regan has less than zero credibility so unless she has some hard evidence such as a tape, the mere assertion is worth less than Pinch Sulzberger’s used panties......

Judith Regan was successful in a duplicitous business because she was duplicitous as well. OJ, Regan, Kerik, the NYT and Fox News can posture all they want, but none are capable of taking a righteous postion.

A man like Giuliani who cheats on his wife will betray anything of value claimed -- including his country.

Even hs own archbishop is against his receiving Holy Communion. The trouble with Catholocism is that has lost a lot of credibility by its avoidance of excomunicstion as a means of bringing to repentance and redeeming its wayward sons...
