Wolf Blitzer is probably highly outraged at this story, and I predict that he will preface his moderation duties at the Vegas debate by saying:

"There have been some news reports that I was 'warned' not to give Senator Clinton a hard time during this debate, and I want to go on the record by saying that NOBODY tells me how to moderate a debate, I take instructions from NO campaign, from NO political advisors, from NO elected officials, and I will ask any questions that I deem pertinent to this debate, and if any candidate doesn't like that, they should recall the words of Finley Peter Dunne who said "politics ain't beanbag", and if they can't take questions from the media, how on Earth can they expect to serve as President of the United States?"

Now for the first question, to Senator Clinton:

Senator? I may be a member of the media, but like many Americans, I do worry about global warming, could you tell us about how you would approach this problem which affects us all?"
