Newt proposed that very thing repeatedly. And he refused to participate in "the circus" which he called an insult to Americans and to American tradition, politics, and history. He became visibly PO'd whenever I saw him discussing it.

Good for Newt. He's right - presently, it is insulting, on many levels.
