“It is well known that half of all marriages end in divorce.” Complete nonsense and completely untrue. It may be well known but what is known is false. The REAL numbers are less than ONE THIRD. The fact is the majority of marriages stay together. This alone should be an argument for marriage not against it.

That said, I know several women who got the shaft in their divorces. Not much said here about the men who work "under the table" and pay little to no child support. Almost can't blame them in some circumstances.

You can say that marriages fail for a number of reasons, but the best predictor of a marriage failure is a woman's equity stake in the marital assets.
