The statistics are quite clear:

If you:
a) Graduate high school (not a GED, but actually finish with your class)
b) Get a job
c) Get married
d) Have a kid

...in THAT order...
then you have a 90% chance of not being poor!

And many times there is a good REASON why no father is in the home.
Sometimes the father is very abusive and involved in activities that put the family in danger.
And often when the man TRIES to be a good father,the wife or mother does everyting she can possibly do to subvert his efforts and won’t let him be the man of the house.
