Governor Mitt Romney Announces National Veterans Coalition

Boston, MA – Today, Governor Mitt Romney announced the Romney for President National Veterans Coalition made up of retired service members from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. As part of this national coalition, each member will serve as a surrogate to their local veterans' communities for Governor Romney's message of change in Washington.

"Every American is grateful for the very extraordinary acts our veterans have performed so that we may continue to enjoy freedom at home. I am proud that so many of these men and women have joined our effort to change Washington by organizing grassroots support for our campaign across the country," said Governor Romney.

In Massachusetts, Governor Romney worked with members of both political parties to expand benefits for veterans and members of the National Guard. In Washington, he will do the same. Party identification does not matter when it comes to helping and supporting our nation's veterans.

Romney: “I longed in many respects to actually be in Vietnam and be representing our country there and in some ways it was frustrating not to feel like I was there as part of the troops that were fighting in Vietnam.”

That's the most sickening thing I've read in a long time.

And Fred Thompson hid behind his pregnant wife’s skirts.

That's the second most sickening thing I've read in a long time.

The Romney Sleaze Machine never sleeps.

The President does not make law; Congress does. Perhaps you should concentrate on regaining Congress if this issue is so important to you?

Yes, Congress makes laws, but the President signs them into law or vetoes them. Romney has done nothing to allay my fears of AWB2 being signed into law under his administration. Probably because he's a RINO and supports it. Which means he doesn't get my vote.

Fred Thompson never served in the military - ditto for his sons.

Fred Thompson is not shamelessly pandering to veterans.

Did you vote for Reagan and Bush who held similar positions? Or, do you have a special rule just for Romney? Stopping our country from being lost to Hillary is more important and much bigger than one issue.

During the same week.

Pandering vs. great idea? Got it.

You are spot on! Romney’s next announcement will be about his “Coalition of Crippled Children and Anyone Else Who Might Be Appealing to Public Sentiment”.

Once the Second Amendment is gone then our country is doomed. Because the Second protects all the other amendments and the Constitution. When I voted for Reagan I wasn't as informed as I am today. I was better informed during the Bush years, which is why he didn't get my vote the second time around. As for Romney being singled out, I feel the same way about Giuliani. He's a RINO cut from the same cloth as Romney. He also doesn't get my vote. And neither does anyone else who is hostile towards the Second Amendment.

I understand the importance of the 2A, even though I believe being a single issue voter is not wise. But you are misinformed about Romney’s 2A positions — his positions mirror those of Reagan and Bush — not Rudy’s. However, given the polling trends, the respective campaign organizations and fundraising prowess, etc... it seems silly to ignore the fact that the choice seems to be Mitt with his NRA B or Rudy and the dems with their F’s.
