Boston, MA Today, Governor Mitt Romney announced the Romney for President National Veterans Coalition made up of retired service members from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. As part of this national coalition, each member will serve as a surrogate to their local veterans' communities for Governor Romney's message of change in Washington.
"Every American is grateful for the very extraordinary acts our veterans have performed so that we may continue to enjoy freedom at home. I am proud that so many of these men and women have joined our effort to change Washington by organizing grassroots support for our campaign across the country," said Governor Romney.
In Massachusetts, Governor Romney worked with members of both political parties to expand benefits for veterans and members of the National Guard. In Washington, he will do the same. Party identification does not matter when it comes to helping and supporting our nation's veterans.

Since Fred didn’t serve either you should really refrain from throwing stones. Glass houses and all.
LOL...Great link.
“One fellow Republican governor was quoted as saying, “Watching George Romney run for the presidency was like watching a duck try to make love to a football.”
Like father, like son.
Only two candidates are under the cloud of suspicion of being draft dodgers.
Second Amendment is my hot button issue. And Romney fails on that count.
He’s no better or worse than Reagan (Brady Bill - Mulford Act) or Bush (AWB). The NRA was pretty happy with him in Massachusetts. No candidate will fulfill everyone’s needs, however.
LOL ! This is just the beginning . I’m sick of the Romney crowd smearing Fred day after day , trying to pass Romney off as a true Conservative . No more pandering .
More truthful info to come , stay tuned ...
just asking. Wouldn’t want anyone accusing Romney of pandering for the veteran vote.
Why is this the one issue that he won’t even try to pander on ? Is he a gun banner or not ?
When I was recently in Colorado Springs, I spoke with a man whose son is serving in Iraq. He said the criticism at home of the war effort was demoralizing. He made the point that as our fighting men and women are defending our liberties overseas, we as Americans need to stand by them. Afterwards, my nephew suggested there should be a "surge of support" to go along with the troop surge. I told him that I couldn't agree more. Join the Surge of Support for our troops. Visit one or more these organizations and send your support to our military men and women who are making such tremendous sacrifices for the safety of all Americans.~~Mitt Romney

“Then, just a few months after dropping out of the presidential race, he received devastating news. Mitt, the prince of the family, had been in a horrible car wreck.”
I didn’t know Mutt was a Prince?
That alone will keep you out of the draft...lol
Well there you have it . Romney supports AWB-2 . Not acceptable . It’s indefensible .
Can you provide a link to your assertion?
And the other unpleasant truth is that the other electable candidates -- Rudy or Hillary -- are not gun-friendly at all.
All I can say is, thank God one-issue voters didn't keep Reagan from being elected.
Is Fred Thompson a veteran?
I don’t think so.
I must be honest, Mr. Robinson, I think the comments against Mitt Romney on this site are not worthy of conservatives that I felt very close to since I joined Free Republic at the beginning of the Iraqi Invasion and the effort to the support the Troops and their Mission.
I can’t believe the disrespect that some of these folks have for people who have chosen candidates other than Fred Thompson.
I took a good look at Thompson and I was not impressed that he was the 100% conservative he claims to be.
I just wish that there was more respect shown on this site to people who differ - as we will all have to stand behind the nominee, no matter who he is.
Thank you for listening.
Not to be outdone in the pandering to vets dept:

You seriously think that Ronald Reagan was not a veteran?
How could you have come to think that?
