VFW Reiterates Non-Endorsement Policy of Political Candidates
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 31, 2007--The Military and Veterans for Ron Paul 2008 website contains a banner headline and link that is clearly designed to mislead visitors into believing that Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has received a national VFW endorsement for president. That is not correct, and we have requested that the headline and link be deleted.
A lot of folks around here throw around around the word “unconstitutional” without possessing even a rudimentary understanding of the historical document in question. Makes ‘em feel smart, I suspect.
If you can’t beat them with facts, dazzle ‘em with BS.
Yup..
“Vet of Foreign Wars endorsed him.”
False:
“The Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee does not endorse Presidential Candidates. The VFW-PAC endorsed Ron Paul in the 2004 and 2006 Texas Congressional races. The body of your statement is correct on what the VFW organization does for Veterans. However, by your title, you are implying that the VFW is endorsing candidate Ron Paul for the 2008 Presidential election. This title is untrue and needs to be corrected immediately. If this announcement is not corrected we will have no choice but to notify our 2 million members and the national media with a press conference that this announcement is untrue, deceiving and manipulative. This would be a great disservice to Ron Pauls campaign and we are sure that he and his staff only want to disseminate the truth. The integrity of the VFW-PAC endorsement recommendations must be maintained. “

it’s hot in here...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.!
Psssst....I'm not a soldier, I'm a contractor who is embedded with the US military on an Iraqi government transition mission. So, I do pretty much the same thing they do on this mission, only in a civilian capacity. I leave the FOB several times a week with them to go to an Iraqi government building here in Baghdad, have to wear the gear and weapon, etc. I will have been working over here four years come January.
That's one of the reasons I don't take kindly to so-called FReepers blasting unfounded accusations about our troops. I noticed that this so-called FReeper hasn't had anything good to say about the very people who are defending his right to spout a bunch of agenda-driven crap.
Thanks for getting my back, Kent. :-)
Contractor or soldier: we're the ones who ought to be thanking you, ma'am. ;)
I missed it, too; it was pulled before I was made aware of it.
I didn't lose so much as a nanosecond of sleep over it, though. ;-)
Just saw an article that stated each American family is paying 20,000 for our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ron Paul is a Republican.
Ron Paul is pro-life.
Ron Paul is a legimate candidate for President.
Ron Paul should be considered on any pro-life poll.
Maybe there is some fear that he would win?
We never said anything about 'freepers' we were speaking of the American people in general.
The goal of Big Government is to keep the American people afraid, while they take their wealth and freedoms in the process.
And Bush has no plans to start withdrawing the troops when he sees the positive result after the 'surge' a surge that should have happened five years ago?
So when Bush starts pulling out troops, he will be considered a 'cut and runner' as well?
The enemy cannot stand us against us in the battlefield, yet hundreds of billions flow into Iraq.
Do you think the United States is going to be able to fight Islamic terrorism if we are broke?
I've stopped voting in them with this one.
That kind of strategy works really well...as long as our enemies cooperate by playing fair: don't attack civilian targets, use only conventional weapons, abide by the rules of the Geneva Convention and don't use proxies to fight.
Welcome to the 21st century
WASHINGTON - The first big test of security gains linked to the U.S. troop buildup in Iraq is at hand.
The military has started to reverse the 30,000-strong troop increase and commanders are hoping the drop in insurgent and sectarian violence in recent months wont prove fleeting.
The current total of 20 combat brigades is shrinking to 19 as the 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, operating in volatile Diyala province, leaves. The U.S. command in Baghdad announced on Saturday that the brigade had begun heading home to Fort Hood, Texas, and that its battle space will be taken by another brigade already operating in Iraq.

How can this be-Bush must be a 'cut and runner!
Now, Al Quaeda wil say that they are winning, that they drove the Americans out!
