Make each candidate for any office fill out a pledge of allegiance to the Constitution

That won't work. They take a pledge to the Constitution when they are sworn in but still ignore to uphold the Constitution. It will be best to keep the pressure on them with your suggestion of cards, letters, emails and faxes. I also add phone calls.

“That won’t work. They take a pledge to the Constitution when they are sworn in but still ignore to uphold the Constitution.”

The point here is to get their signed pledge PRIOR to campaigning for office under the label of “R”. Raising the bar, or raising theirs and the voters level of conciousness PRIOR to campaigning about what he/she are entering into with the contituency should provide a basis for any Politician of integrity to consider. IOW we aren’t going to allow business as usual. We would be demanding the game played our way, and integrity restored to the American Political scene (such as it is).

If we cannot get those applying to campaign for the position of Congressionnal Representative to respect our will, we will never achieve quality candidates.

Certainly there will be those whom check the appropriate boxes and continue with intent to do as they damned well please, but under these circumstances we can pillory them with their own signed pledges prior to election should that become opportune, but should also enhance aggressive actions against them after they’re sworn in and should they break their pledge in business as usual style.

It would be an added deterrent to the current standards of Constituency abuse.
