"... "We don't believe he has a very clear understanding of the Second Amendment and what it means to protect the right to keep and bear arms," executive director Sam Paredes added in an interview. "We're very disappointed in his decisions."

Wait a minute.

I am not defending Governor Schwarzenegger on signing the CA Microstamping and 'Lead-Free' ammo bills, but to those in the know, Sam Paredes of 'Gun Owners of California' is probably most to blame in regards to the behind the scenes workings of how the bills came to be signed.

What happened was that Paredes had a personal vendetta against a CA Dept of Fish & Game administrator who had been a relatively good friend to the issue of RKBA and decided to lobby the Governor to remove him from his job. Paredes finally managed to get his way and when it came time for the Governor's staff to round up 'Yea-or-Nay' testimony over the two bills in question, the soon-to-be fired administrator spitefully fired back at 'Gun Owners of California' and chose not to support opposition to their signing.

'Gun Owners of California' are not your friends, California shooters. Those schmucks are responsible for more anti-gun legislation being passed than they've defeated.
