We had a great church service today commemorating all veterans. We had 140 warriors from Ft Knox attending. At the beginning all veterans were asked to stand by service branches. Then the pastor honored the older for their WWII service. One, who I have known for some time, and who is the father-in-law of our dentist, received a standing ovation as he was taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge (I had no idea, he does not brag about it, simply says he is a WWII vet who they screwed up and gave a battlefield commission to).
What a wonderful service SLB....thank you for sharing!
Magnificent. Battlefield commissions are a thing of the past, if I’m not mistaken - at least I haven’t heard of one in ages. Job well done, by our older brethren.
