A tribute to fallen HEROES
from the staff and visitors at FreeRepublic.com, FreedomUSA.org and Veterans for Constitutional Restoration (VetsCoR)
During the course of this country's history brave men and women have stepped forward from time to time, answering the country's call to fight against would-be tyrants, dictators and despots, and to defend the individual freedom that is our birthright.
Many of these brave men and women have paid the ultimate price.
It is to these brave men and women of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine that we dedicate this page, and to freedom fighters everywhere and everywhen, in the hope that their sacrifice will not have been in vain.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
LEST WE FORGET.

With heartfelt thanks to our fallen camrades for their sacrifice.

Where would this Nation be without those whom sacrificed so much? Unfathomable.
God Bless All Our Military Personnel today, yesterday, anywhere, here or there. We love and respect each and every one of you for what you do, and did for this Nation.

Neil, thank you for this.
I saw on TV today there are some 10% of the US population who are Veterans. It's a shame they are only honored on this day and Memorial Day. Independence Day (July 4th) has turned into a reason for keggers and flashing lights in the sky. It has long ago lost it's meaning.
As I've often said and long believed, let the bombs drop (or threat thereof) on Americans and they will be screaming for their military. Other than that, the inane pleasures of our popular culture numbs their civic conscience and lets them pretend the perils of our violent world don't exist.
Bless our active-duty, our reservists, and our Veterans for all they have sacrificed. Very few know what those sacrices entail unless they served or were close family.
Peace and prosperity to all Veterans. We love you; we respect you; and we appreciated the hardships you live daily to keep our country strong and defend our Nation's interests.

With due respect, this day should never be about "lighten things up". It should be a solemn day that all Americans hold dear in their hearts with reverance for those who are willing to fight for America's interests, IMHO.
