How’s about these 3 little words: FREEDOM OF SPEECH?!

(Not that I condone the use of ‘bad’ words, but this will be a slippery slope if it passes!)

I'm with you. Take just about anyone and you can find some word/label that they find offensive. I would hope that anyone called an offensive name would have enough self-respect and enough self-esteem to shake it off, know that they are the bigger/better person for not having to resort to name-calling.

The upside of freedom of speech means you can say just about anything you want. (short of the typical "fire" in a crowded theater) The downside is you have to put up with other people expressing their views too.

I often have to just shake my head and laugh at some of these people pushing diversity, tolerance, etc. They are all for tolerance and understanding - right up to the point where they are confronted with someone who is intolerant, opinionated, perhaps even bigoted. Then these proponents of tolerance tend to become some of the most intolerant people in the world. They cannot tolerate intolerance, they must fight it, suppress it, ban it, penalize it, etc. Their hypocrisy can actually be quite funny. But alas, whatever happened to "I disagree with what you say, sir. But I will defend to the death your right to say it!"

As for the LA Law... I guess that means about 50% of the rap songs will be banned within the city limits. Maybe they can fine any radio stations broadcasting into their airspace too. Sounds like another unenforceable, unreasonable, feel-good, do-nothing law.
