No way Chicago is not on this list...Or LA???...come on.

I don't know about Chicago...but there might be one explanation
for Los Angeles not on the list.
If the demographers are including "the greater Los Angeles area",
it would probably include locales like Sherman Oaks and Simi Valley...
places that often go for a full year without a (known) murder.
That might dilute the murder rate when piled in with the stats
from less-hospitable areas like South Central, Athens, Hawaiian Gardens,
East LA and the like.
