A third party this late in the game would be useless anyway. If people wanted another party, the time to start it would be right after the election. Start a completely party, not libertarian or green party. Give it a new name, establish it as a truly conservative party and destroy the Democratic party. Then it would go back to a two party system.

“This country is not very democratic and only allows for two parties.”
Ron, our founders had good reasons for not setting up a parliamentary form of government.
To: RC2
Well, I’m probably wrong, but I was hoping that Paul would run as a third party candidate. And his anti-war stance would cause enough of hillary’s kook supporters to jump ship to make it a massacre. The good news is, hillary’s imploding on her own and is setting herself up to be the next McGovern.

Does this mean his money will suddenly dry up? ;-)

At the time of the founding, there were at least four active parties. It has nothing to do with a parliamentary government.

Ya, and he is not going to support the republican nominee either.

Yea it does. The electoral college led directly to the two-party system.

"
...And his anti-war stance would cause enough of hillarys kook supporters to jump ship to make it a massacre" I live in a fairly liberal neighborhood, and judging by the yard signs, and bumper stickers, RP's support crosses party lines and is clearly growing faster now than it was two months ago.

The electoral college was created specifically to deal with 3 or more candidates.

Well if he doesn’t run, and Hillary hangs on and wins the nomination, perhaps Nadar as the green party candidate gets far more support than in previous years.
To: RC2
Give it a new name, establish it as a truly conservative party and destroy the Democratic party. Then it would go back to a two party system. 1) How would establishing a third party even more conservative than the GOP destroy the Democratic party? Liberals and libertarians won't just magically vanish.
2) You're implying a) that a two-party system is a good thing and b) that we actually have a two-party system now. All I see is government party A and government party B. Their fundamental similarities far outweigh any trivial policy differences.

You are so correct.
It has always appeared to me that people repeat what they think he has said or what others think he has said but if they were to read what he has written and actually said, honestly how could they support him

Glad to hear it. Ron Paul is doing something America needs right now. Get back to basics on why our country was founded.
To: darkwing104
I fascinated by the Bush dedication to their great leader. If Bush was running today he would not get elected since so many conservatives are disappointed.
