That's part of the standard indoctrination at a lot of universities.
1. There is no such thing as an "illegal" person.
2. There should be no borders.

IIRC, that was the sort of sloganeering screamed by the pukes at
Columbia University when the Minuteman speaker was forced off
the stage.

(And parents pay as much as $30,000/year to get their kids this
sort of education. And taxpayers subsidize some of these kiddies
with low interest loans!)
