Greetings all, time for the Friday Flyby. As your humble poster was busy this AM thinning out the honey-do list,{Yea Right:-)}and taking a nap since it's my weekend on nights:-( Y'all will have to settle for a repost of last years pics. But as a happy coincidence November 10th just happens to be the birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps and I just happen to have some USMC pics still on the server so away we go and on with the pics!!!

First up the WW-II and later avaition version of a toddler. In Marine colors of course.

Nothing says Marine Air in WW-II like the F4U Corsair, eh?

Just to late to see action in WW-II the Grumman F7F Tigercat did see some service in Korea.

Fronm the "Golden Age" of jets a Douglas F4D Skyray glides through the air in this painting. I always thought that the Skyray was a "cool" aircraft as a kid.

Next up the Chance Vought F8 Crusader. From wikipedia...On July 16, 1957, Glenn completed the first supersonic transcontinental flight in a Vought F8U Crusader. The California to New York flight took 3 hours, 23 minutes and 8 seconds. As Glenn passed over his hometown, a child in the neighborhood reportedly ran to the Glenn house shouting "Johnny dropped a bomb! Johnny dropped a bomb! Johnny dropped a bomb!" as the sonic boom shook the town.

And to close out tonites Flyby the Phablous Phantom II

Well that's it for tonite folks, have a great weekend and if I can get my act together I will have a new Sortie tomorrow night. Y'all take care out there and have a great weekend.

Regards
