American Values?
During the Iraq war, American troops were instructed to use specially equipped tanks to bulldoze the trenches that held Iraqi soldiers- Not a single American was hurt, so meager was the resistance. Thousands of Iraqis, teenagers coerced into the army by the dictator Hussein, were buried alive, while the unprecedented military tactic was hidden from the public through media censorship. Captain Benny Williams, who Led the charge was awarded the Silver Star for his role. Also hidden: the apparent fact that many of the rag-tag teenage soldiers were trying to surrender as they were entombed.

For that kind of money we could have invested in technolgy to give us flying cars like they had in that futuristic cartoon show the Jetsons running on an alternative energy source instead if continueing to p*ss things away in that middle east rathole. Uh...
Forget the buffet, see the medical officer....
Ask for the green pill with the white stripe....

Yours is the most helpful post so far - I remember hearing these stories way back when. Once the battle is engaged, playing nice may get you killed.

OMG, this has to be the funniest argument yet.. if we didn’t have the war, we could spend that on developing flying cars like what is on the Jetsens.
I swear, Odd, you are playing a parody of a Paul supporter, right? I mean, this has to be a joke.

You tried to sidestep this:
Okay, so were just supposed to leave the place a chaotic shambles, where Al-Qeada can get a strong handhold and reinvigorate the Taliban?
Whats conservative in that?
Had to talk to your buddies to put your ‘response’ together, didn’t you.
What we are getting for our money?
A fighting force worth the money, body armor, bullets, boots, beans.
We are getting supplies, fuel, and food.
We are getting medical services, and equipment.
We are getting done what HAS to be done.
“For that kind of money we could have invested in technolgy to give us flying cars like they had in that futuristic cartoon show the Jetsons running on an alternative energy source instead if continueing to p*ss things away in that middle east rathole.”
Yeah, and everyone could have golden lazerbeam eyeballs too.
I’ve heard that comment before, from a rat troll punk KID.

You could start by producing a more accurate headline. There’s nothing about “war crimes” in the excerpt you posted.

Rule #1 of war: SHIT HAPPENS. People die, not all deservedly, and many in horrible ways.Gosh, I would never have known that if you hadn't told me.
I just don't know nothin' about no war, Miz Scarlett.

Yeah, I’d heard the flying car comment from some libtard troll before.
Just don’t recall which one offhand.

The problem with much, but not all, of the libertarian movement is that in the 1970s they began accepting part of the New Left’s critique of American foreign policy. Murray Rothbard, the heir to the Austrian school of economics, collaborated with several leftists in that era with regard to an emphasis on the evils of American imperialism and a blind eye toward Communist aggression and plans for world domination. Lew Rockwell and a number of libertarian writers, clustered around lewrockwell.com and antiwar.com, carry on the Rothbard line. In all fairness, the heirs to Ayn Rand, such as Leonard Peikoff and David Kelley, firmly reject such a myopic and anti-American view. (Rand was a staunch anti-Communist, as would befit a refugee from the Soviet Union.) The Reason Foundation is not antiwar, and it is the leading libertarian think tank. You cannot brush off all libertarians as being myopic leftist fellow travelers. Unfortunately, Ron Paul is more influenced by the Rothbard school than the Ayn Rand school.

UncleDick,
Killing troops who are trying to surrender is a war crime, and apparently Paul accused our solders of doing that.

...feel free to enjoy the buffet, if you can find it, we can't... Silly! It's over at the FR Canteen thread. They've always got really good stuff, too.
Don't tell anyone else, though. We don't want everything to be all picked over.
