I think McCain will be Rudy’s running mate as v.p.

‘The muddled state of the GOP race may reflect growing frustration with the available choices.’
Just as likely its expressing ‘growing frustration’ with being polled every twenty seconds right now by various organizations.

This is a national name recognition poll, still. The vast vast majority of Americans are not even remotely tuned in to the presidential race yet.
The individual state polls for the early states tell the true tale of who is the most likely nominee best able to orchestrate victory for the general election. At this point in the process, the measurement is of energy and competence.

Not quite true. In the recent poll of Hillary vs. Rudy on FR, 50.7% would not vote for either. There are a lot of people that will not vote for either candidate when presented Dim vs. Dim in the general election.

I hope all of them stay in the race all the way to next summer. Then the GOP can have a brokered convention, just like the olden days. High drama, smoke filled back rooms, big TV ratings. Great stuff.

There's always Monday. I'd love to see the thread next week if McCain & Thompson are tied for 15 on any given day next week. Or what if Rooooooon Paaaaaaaaul ties for Huckabee at 9?
Or how about this, what if [insert candidate name here] has a "Dean scream" incident in the next 30 days?

Why are ALL the candidates having low approval ratings now? I don't want to be facetious but the reason is that they all "suck". With all the crap taking place in the Mideast and with Hillary looming on the horizon, the conservative cause doesn't have a single world class candidate. Second stringers, all!!!

Fred is a world-class candidate. People just need to open their eyes.

Cool. I can NOT vote for BOTH of them at the same time, LOL!

I’d worry that a “smoky back room” type convention would guarantee an Establishment RINO. Like Rudy.

Again I ask, where is the poll at this link:
Heres one showing Fred at 6%, and discussing why.

I will not unite behind some of the Republican candidates if they win, most notably Rudy.Same here. I also couldn't get behind Ron Paul.

Actually, that’s the beauty of that idea. Then we conservatives would know for certain that it’s the PARTY that’s turning its back on us, rather than just a lot of stupid primary voters.
