While numerous regional news outlets have been reporting on this for days, this has been ignored by the bigger news networks... Fox, CNN, MSNBC, all of them.

Why? They figure a missing girl in Portugal is more important? Is it that she is niether a minority nor rich? Or is it just that the big city elitists think a missing child in "Fly-over country" is unimportant?

Madelyn McAnn has been missing for months, and likely dead. This little girl may still be alive, and if the big media gets off their butts and helps out, maybe she will be alive when she is found.

Nice to know that the big media outlets do not give a damn about our children around here.

I’m not comfortable with the stepfather’s story. I hope it doesn’t turn out for the worse.

He left a 9 year old at home alone at night?

There was a thread about this girl posted yesterday. Did you see it?

From the first of the article, I suspected the step father and my suspicions were confirmed the more I read. I’m sorry, but he definitely did something to Rowan, killed her, and got his mother to bring over the car so he could dispose of the body. He and his buddies might have done something before they left the first time, but I’m thinking he did the deed after they dropped him off around midnight hence the need for mama’s car at 1:30 and the 5 1/2 hour trip in it for the rest of the night. She obviously knows much more than what she’s told so far. Hope the police are searching the car, getting soil samples from the tires, checking gas purchases and security cameras, and having the girl’s mother go through the house/garage to find any missing bedding or tarps. Anyone know how long mom and stepdad been together and his criminal history?

Copeland described the stepfather as “less than cooperative

Sounds like the step father and his buddies would be a good place to start the investigation.

Copeland described the stepfather as “less than cooperative.”
He said Spears later acknowledged to investigators that he left the home a second time during the night.

RED FLAG

I was shocked when I read how long she has been missing and this is the first I have heard about it. You are right, we are still getting news about the McCain girl and even the one missing from Aruba...but not this poor child.

If I read this right, the step-father left the house to go out with friends and the child was in bed??? What's up with that? Don't people have any sense? Unless, of course, this stepfather is somehow otherwise involved. I like to save my judgment on these things, but this does not sound good any way it is looked at.

Well, I clicked through. I'd start with the stepfather's mother for my questioning. She didn't look in on the girl? She didn't ask where her car was going? She didn't notice what he carried to the car?

Law officers and volunteers combed some woods near the girl’s home Sunday

And the cops are wasting their time doing that. It appears that they need to be looking about a 2 hour drive away. Does the stepfather have any relatives about that far away, or does he hunt, or have friends with farms 75 to 150 miles away?

Prayers sent for Rowan, and her mother.

BTW, if the article you posted is both accurate and factual, it appears the stepfather is obviously the primary and sole suspect.

Since you also state that the situation is/has received extensive local and regional coverage... Why the rant against the mostly ignored national MSM?
Are there any indications “step-daddy” transported Rowan across state lines?

Rowan lived with her mother and stepfather, David Spears, at the top of a hill overlooking the town. Colleen Spears, who has four other children up to age 25, has been married to David Spears for three years, officials have said.

Wonder where the other four siblings live and their ages? Wonder what they think of David. Ok, so they've been married for a while but that doesn't change my mind. http://www.joplinglobe.com/cnhi/joplinglobe/homepage/local_story_310224838.html?keyword=leadpicturestory

This link has several articles. Seems stepdad isn’t staying in the home since the disappearance.

Copeland said the stepfather and two of his male friends were with the girl at the home until they decided to go out together about 10:45 p.m. The stepfather told investigators that he looked in on the girl in her bedroom before leaving, and she was asleep.

He left a 9 year old little girl home ALONE while he went out to party?

David Spears did not return to the house until sometime around midnight, when one of his friends dropped him off, the sheriff said. Copeland said Spears told investigators that he did not check on Rowan again before going to bed.

So we can assume his friends aren't suspect? Did they all take a polygraph?

This is not looking good for the stepfather or finding that precious child alive. I'm sick.

Heavenly Father I come before your throne of grace thanking you first for allowing me to be able to.

I lift up to you Lord this missing child who's loved ones are hurting in her absence. Lord I pray for the guidance of Law enforcement and child find agencies accross the world to have the man power and be instilled with the knowledge to help all they can in this cases and enabled this child to be found.

I pray that while her loved ones wait for news regarding them that they will be comforted by you Lord, let them cast their cares upon you and not carry the burden themselves, give them a type of peace that passes all understanding during the difficult minutes and or days ahead.

I pray that their loved one will be found unharmed Lord. As always Lord we pray all things according to your will in
Jesus name.
Amen

Search for missing girl is over. Her body has been found, as I understand it, about 10 miles from home.
