Robertson is either senile or Guiliani somehow convinced him that he is a born-again fundamentalist. This reminds me of 1976 when Jimmih convinced millions of naive Southern Baptists that he was a true conservative.

The majority of Giuliani supporters don’t agree with his stands on the social issues, which the White House has very little power over anyway. They are supporting him for other reasons, like his accomplishments in public office. He is running for Commander in Chief, not Preacher in Chief. If one finds his stands on those issues too much for them to support him in the primary, there’s nothing wrong with that. But to not support him under any circumstances if simply over the top.

To the surprise of noone, Pat Roberston again endorses a non-Social Conservative during the GOP Primaries (did so for Dole in 1996, Bush Sr. in 1992). Can’t he at least wait until AFTER the primaries to sell everybody out?

As I have said many times, I remember when Rudolph Guiliani campaigned with and for Mario Cuomo. Cuomo is a social liberal. Guiliani will lose to Hillary just like he did in the NY Senate race when he quit.

Hunter has electability problems. I can't figure out if Huck governed as a conservative or RINO in Arkansas. Fred has disappointed with his lackluster campaign out of the gate. I hope he gets on top of his game. Add it up and Mitt may be the alternative to Rudy and Captain Queeg for pro-lifers.

Romney would certainly not be among my top choices (and it has NOTHING to do with his being a Mormon), but I could live with him.

Wagglebee, Just a note to let you know I’ve decided to vote for Guiliani if he wins the nomination. It has nothing to do with Robertson’s endorsement. I made this decision today after much thought and deliberation. This nation simply cannot withstand another Clinton assault on its economics and moral character. I will continue to push for a more upstanding GOP nominee but if Rudy is it, I plan to hold my nose and give him my vote.

One of his appointments was an officer of the International Association of Lesbian and Gay Judges. Another, an abortion-rights supporter, later made it to the federal bench in part because New York Sen. Charles E. Schumer, a liberal Democrat, said he liked her ideology.

Cumulatively, Giuilani’s record was enough to win applause from people like Kelli Conlin, the head of the New York branch of NARAL.

“I don’t think he was looking for someone who was particularly conservative,” said Barry Kamins, a Democrat who chaired the panel of the Bar Association of the City of New York, which reviewed Giuliani’s appointments. “He picked a variety from both sides of the spectrum.”

Not true. On his first day in office, clinton signed an Executive Order, reversing Reagan's Mexico City policy and committing billions of tax dollars to abortion around the globe, including forced abortions in China. He signed another executive order that same day ordering that gays should be accepted in the military. That one raised a firestorm, and had to be toned down to "don't ask, don't tell," which was still an imposition on the military. But if it happens again, it might stick.

Bush reinstated the Mexico City policy. But if Rudy gets in, we'll see more money for UN abortions, more money for Planned Parenthood, fetal stem cell research, cloning, gays in the military, and lousy supreme court appointments. It happened with clinton. If hillary gets in, it will be much worse. And if rudy gets in, it would also be much worse.

Anyone who genuinely believes a pro-illegal immigration, pro-”sanctuary city” stance (such as Giuliani’s) does anything to enhance their safety from terrorist attacks is — plainly and simply — too bone stupid to be allowed to vote, come Election Day.
