Why is Fred Thompson on your list?

Because there are better "Conservatives" to pick from.

Anybody able to even eke out 5% of the vote? Even if 100% of all FReepers were to support Hunter, he'd not even reach 4%.

Fred Thompson is not as 'perfect' as Duncan Hunter, but at least he has a shot at winning the nomination. He does NOT deserve to be on the same list with Rooty.

Duncan Hunter isn’t conservative enough for me. He’s a damned RINO.

Disagree with your assessment of Fred.

Your comment on Lugar, I agree, but I don’t know of anyone who supports him anymore. Maybe the first time he ran for office, but not now. The Indiana Republican party is not strong on supporting him either. They shower him with very faint praise.

Hunter has problems as a big spender, he doesn’t know how to get limited government done. Fred is better on limited government than Hunter is. Therefore more conservative.

If all this post is based upon your judgment calls, it is not worth the bandwidth.
