I work at Kennedy Space Center, we can’t always see it but the weather is so beautiful here today we were able to watch most of the last turn and then continuosly from about 5000 ft to almost touchdown (it gets below the tree line just before torchdown) Fantastic landing!

1:16 p.m. - Inside Discovery, the astronauts are going through the standard checklist while, outside the orbiter, the landing convoy team continues work to “safe” the vehicle. It’s been 15 minutes since landing.

1:06 p.m. - “Hello there. It’s nice to be back in Florida!” said Commander Pam Melroy as she and her crew begin their post-landing duties.

It looked unbelievably gorgeous on NASA TV. I’m so jealous, stuck here in 40 deg. dull and dreary Midwest. Fantastic landing. Pam Melroy is one girl with the right stuff. Fly away with me, baby...
