“So is Weyrich a conservative, but a gullible tool that Romney has hoodwinked?”

You know its really sad that people cant simple say they agree to disagree. Too many koolaid drinkers for one POV try to read someone out of the conservative movement for daring to come down on a different side of things.

Weyrich has done more for the conservative movement than the whole FR crowd put together and his judgment is sound. Maybe Mitt’s fooling some folks; but maybe the Mitt-bashers have it wrong and Mitt really is signing up to put his leadership and experience to work on a conservative agenda.

It’s called selling your soul to the dark side. Weyrich is no Conservative, period.

Romney looks interesting to me. Fred has disappointed me since he announced.

Surface appearance. He conned a lot of people on his looks. He’s as phony as they come.

If you read what Weyrich says, he thinks Thompson lacks the fire in the belly to stop Giuliani and that’s what is crucial. As long as the non-Julieannie vote is split between Huckabee, Thompson and Romney, Julieannie wins and that means we get Hillary as our next president because Giuliani cannot defeat her after alienating so much of his base.

Thompson had his chance and he blew it big time. People are backing Romney for tactical reasons—the longer the conservative vote is split among three good candidates, the worst candidate wins.

That’s a sad, narrowminded and small thing for you to say, especially of someone who’s been fighting the conservative fight for decades.
You don’t know the man, nor his motivations, and his reasoning is there for you to take or leave as you will.

See my previous post. You should learn to disagree without attacking the character of those you disagree with.

I guess, like Weyrich, it doesn’t matter so much to me if Romney is sincere deep in his heart about his conversion or not. If he were elected as a pro-life conservative he’d have to govern as one or he’d lose his base and any hope of a second term.

Truth hurts. Precious Willard is a RINO cancer that needs to be excised before he does to the national party what he did to the MA GOP. Same goes for Rudy, McNut, Prawn & Huckster.

His motivation is power. He’s a disciple of Slick Willie Weld. Neither had any use for Conservatives (except to get their vote to get into office and to screw them afterwards) and no use for Ronald Reagan.

Oh, and btw, I’ve known Precious for 13 years. I was up in MA during his Senate campaign. So don’t try that “I don’t know him” nonsense with me. He’s a lying liberal FRAUD. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him.

He’s not interested in anything other than getting in, harming our party from within, and helping an Obama-like President to succeed him.

He already did that in Massachusetts. They’ve got their Black Marxist Governor he helped elect and no Republicans left. This menace must be stopped.

This statement seems to show that Weyrich recognizes that Mitt is a little new to the conservative thing.

“”Newsmax: What do you think of Mitt Romney?

Weyrich: “I think he is somebody who is rushing toward the movement trying to present himself as a conservative and in some ways it’s more useful to have somebody like that. I think he could be supported.”

How did Thompson blow it ?
Thompson is consistently closer to Rudy in most polls than is Romney.
Romney isn’t in second place, Thompson is, so in the name of tactical reasons , maybe you should consider supporting Thompson .

Look at how horribly Romney has thrown steadfast supporters overboard at the first hint of controversy .
You don’t think he would do the same to the Conservative movement ....please ....

At least you don’t have to worry about your gun rights with Fred . Romney , on the other hand , I can’t say the same .

"I felt..."

I could care less about your feelings, Paul. Liberals base their actions on feelings instead of unchanging principles, not conservatives.

I’m of a mind that he is sincere in his change of heart...

And so, you ignore a 35 year record of the worst sort of liberalism, and clear evidence that Romney is lying in an attempt to fool the naive.

Mr. Weyrich, I hate to say it, but I think your mind is going.

This is a sell-out of Benedict Arnold proportions.

In other words, Weyrich is admitting that the Republican party is a total disaster. We’ve lost all sight of conservatism. We have several candidates who are outright rejected for their liberalism, or unwillingness to go along with needlessly amending the constitution (fix the problem by impeaching the liberal activist judges, stupid, not amending the constitution), or are religious zealots, etc. Now we must twist the arms of the voters to sell them on the idea that impressive dynamism (ie, a candidate who lies convincingly to whichever audience he’s speaking to) is what we need. Geez, what a mess.

Ok, Weyrich has convinced me. The Republican party is too screwed up to govern conservatively. Not a Reagan conservative in the bunch.

Hmmm... wait a minute. Not a mention of Hunter. Where are Hunter’s non-conservative criticisms??
