Nobody has a long term relationship with their gardener’s employees.

Hello???? Most people barely know their names.

Keep going. You look more irrational with each post.

“””For about eight years, Rosales said, he worked on and off landscaping the grounds at Romney’s home, occasionally getting a “buenos dias” from Romney or a drink of water from his wife, Ann.

“She is very nice,” said Rosales, 49.

About 6 miles away in Copado, a 37-year-old man who recently returned to Guatemala from the United States told a similar story, describing long days tending Romney’s 2 1/2-acre grounds.

“They wanted that house to look really nice,” said the worker, who asked to remain anonymous. “It took a long time.””

This is a world that I know a lot about, over eight years there is much interaction between the home owner and the men that they have hired to maintain their yards, relocate plants, perform chores such as shaping and caring for their favorites etc. Often these foreigners were there 3 days a week instead of two.

That is why a corrupt customer that thinks he has found a good deal when he has an eight year relationship with guys that aren’t even in the system would recommend them to his son.

Well, I changed gardeners after the ones I had ran a hedge trimmer through my stained glass window! I knew most of the crew by name, but they would not pay for the damage. So there was an opening!

And, when I found someone I liked, I did ask about citizenship and so forth, and settled on a nice kid trying to start his own business, who was a citizen, his family lived a few blocks over. There were lots and lots of companies who wanted the business, it’s a very competitive field round here, and most could not or would not demonstrate legal residence.

If you are going to have people wandering around your property it pays to know who they are. My little property is tiny, lawnwise, but someone does the mow-and-blow, takes the palm fronds off when they are dry, and trims the Australian fern trees or whatever they are called. I'm sure Mitt's property is bigger!

I will admit that the car wash I use probably hires illegals, but you either wash the car yourself or, if you use a commercial wash, get your hot wax from guest workers.
