MILWAUKEE -- A 32-year-old woman who tried to stop four men from beating her boyfriend early Monday morning was run over twice by a car, Milwaukee police said.
Police said a 35-year-old man was inside Indio's Tavern on South Cesar Chavez when four men began beating him with pool cues and beer bottles.
The attack spilled into the parking lot where the woman tried to intervene, according to police.
As the four drove off, they struck her with their car and then did a U-turn and ran over her a second time, police said.
Officers who arrived on the scene stopped the suspects' vehicle and arrested the four men.
Police said the man and woman are expected to live, but are in bad shape.
Move along, nothing to see. It’s only news if Brittney Spears runs over someone with her car or Lindsay Lohan is photographed wearing underwear.
How did a Milwaukee street get named for Cesar Chavez ?
Quick guess: 1) 4 undocumented aliens, 2) gangbangers, 3) all of the above.
The same way a street in Helena, Montana got named for Martin Luther King, Jr. All four black people in town asked for it.
That should tack another respective 10 years on their sentences. With today's judges, likely not. It might be the difference between house arrest and probation.
No names. Hmm.
I had no idea there were masses of grape pickers in Milwaukee...
Running over the women Americans won’t run over

Bascially the same thing just happened where I live. None of the above.
Not a bad guess, but it could be undifferentiated garden variety dirt-bats.
Sorry, it will soon be renamed Mohammed Ave.

From the Editors:
If your ethnic background is of the Caucasian variety, you might get a gravelly "que onda, gringo?" upon entering Indio's Place. Don't freak out; this "what's up" is usually accompanied by a smile and is merely the welcome mat at this Cesar E. Chavez Drive mainstay. Of course, it helps if you know some español, but bilingualism is not required. Indio's has two pool tables, a large hall for live music (Fridays and Saturdays; rancheros, banda and cumbia), Budweiser "Let's Fiesta" posters and bartenders who know how a Corona or tequila should really be served.

It's not much to look at, but you get the sense of being at your home... just BE NICE to EVERYONE, including Francisco... and you won't be introduced to his BIG mag-light!! al...
Looks like Whitedog57 might have gotten it right!
From that information, I’d guess that both the criminals and the victims are Hispanic. No way to tell who, if anyone, is illegal, though, without further information from the police.
Now there are TWO street names you want to avoid at all costs in a strange town...
Cesar Chavez is the new Martin Luther King Jr.
Fear the Big Mag-light !
So that’s what the kids are calling it, these days...
Good grief, what’s a 32 year old women doing hanging in a bar late on a Sunday night?
