Mitt Romney keeps his South Carolina headquarters in a single-story building at one end of Gervais Street, which is Columbias version of Washingtons K Street, lined with the offices of local lobbyists, P.R. consultants, and other fixers and power brokers. The main room of Romney HQ is decorated with hand-painted red-and-blue signs, mementos from previous campaign events: mitt is my hero! mitts the man! mitts my pick! I visited on a steamy Monday night in late July, a time of year when few South Carolinians are interested in politics and fewer still want their evening interrupted by pitches for a presidential primary six months away. But eleven volunteers, mostly college students, were hunched in cubicles spread around the office, diligently placing cold calls to area residents. Boxes of pepperoni pizza from Dominos (a company Romney backed when he ran the investment firm Bain Capital) were piled on a table against a wall. Well, I understand, maam, theres a long way to go before the election, the volunteer replied. I just hope youll keep us in mind.
-snip- In seeking to woo conservatives, Romney has also used his personal PACthe Commonwealth Political Action Committeeto contribute lavishly to several national pro-life groups, the Federalist Society, the National Review, and the Heritage Foundation, among others.

I'm not looking for a husband to vote for.
Like Romney, McKissick is perfectly groomed, with not a single hair askew.
Hey, I'm not looking for someone who can do a brill creme commercial.
...said one young woman, reading from a script into a cell phone. After running through a list of Romneys accomplishmentsrescuing the 2000 Olympics in Salt Lake City...
Hey, I'm not looking for a chief Olympian.
'Cause when you tie the wrong leader to the wrong org, it not only shows you up, but makes it appear like you're falsely judging somebody's motivation.
I'm not looking or voting for a Consultant-in-Chief.
He then led the turnaround on the SLC Olympics.
i'M NOT looking for or voting for a Chief Olympian.
He is still married to his high-school sweetheart has 5 kids and 10 grandkids.
I'm not looking for or voting for a husband. I'm not looking or voting for a father. I'm not looking for or voting for a grandfather.
The real Mitt Romney is a family-values moderately conservative energetic superb businessman who likes solving problems.
I think the article says it best, having cited a conservative source, Human Events: If Romneywho prior to running for president was deemed so moderate in his politics that Human Events magazine put him on its list of the top ten Republicans in Name Only...
You got that right. The Clintonians know that the above formula=automatic Republican voter suppression (self-imposed)
What part of that hash contradicts any of the facts in the article?
Romney is the candidate for those who value appearance over all else. There’s nothing wrong with that, is there?
Someone once said that "Mitt looks like a topper for a wedding cake"
LOL! Good one. :)
You know there have been “no abortions”, how exactly?
And FRed NEVER said he “wouldn’t interfere in ‘Rowe’V Wade.
My post was only meant to assist people in investigating motivation when it involves supporting such a phony candidate.
My post was a general statement about how Romney is buying support, it was not about any specific groups or people.
If you noticed I included Dobson in the general statement although I gave no specifics.
I was just pointing out that the old article from March pretty much indicated that if someone wants to know about Romney support, that they should look into a money trail.
What's sad is the lack of wisdom exhibited around here by those slamming the only electable conservative capable of knocking out Rudy and Hillary. Maybe stealth Rudybots or Hillary plants are posting these things?
If you noticed you weren’t correct in linking whose Heritage Foundation’s leader is, and neither was JRochelle in an early post.
Weyrich is easily bought. In 2000 he supported Steve Forbes. And we know that Forbes spread his wealth around too in order to buy favor with conservatives.
Willard is neither conservative nor at this point particularly electable.
Where should Rudy send the "Thank you" bouquets?
Bain Capital
