... He got busted with 11 pounds of weed, and with violating his probation and with multiple counts of felony bookmaking, cocaine trafficking and conspiracy, and he got probation

I have a little test for myself when stuff like this comes up. I ask myself, "What if it was the opposition?" Frankly, I wouldn't give a good doodley-squat if a Liberal opponent's supporter was a guy who'd been busted for weed and coke dealing 24 years ago. I'd sneer at Conservatives who used it as some sort of condemnation of the Liberal opponent, and it would hold no water for me. I'd say, "That's not only weak, it's shallow and grasping."

They could have dug this up on a confederate of Romney or Clinton or Rudy or Obama, and I'd say the same thing. It's podunk, stupid and irrelevant.

The more I see about this, the more I think it’s a weak attempt by the media to smear Thompson. But I also get the feeling that the MSM is holding back details, and there’s still some information yet to come on this.

Martin was still on probation when he got charged with the cocaine trafficking and felony bookmaking, and all he got was a longer probation sentence. That’s enough to set off alarms with me, and it should with anyone. He must have some very powerful friends to pull strings like that.

And why did this “good friend” endanger Fred by not telling him about these charges? What else is he hiding?

Some have also suggested it’s an attempt to distract from the current “Is Hillary a Lesbian?” story, or the fact that she choked at the last debate.

Fred handled the initial round. We’ll have to wait and see what comes next.
