Hunter is a good man, and I have no doubts about him at all.
Fred is a good man who can win. It's no criticism of Hunter, whom I admire.

Cue up the Duncan Hunter crew and let them once again tell us all how their guy is the only true conservative guy with 100% sterling credentials.
Fact: In 1998, Duncan Hunter was 100 percent behind the impeachment of one William Jefferson Clinton.
Fact: In 1998, Fred Thompson thought it better to throw obstacles in the path of the impeachment managers and try to cut Bubba some slack.
Fact: Duncan Hunter did NOT support McCain-Foolsgold 'Campaign Finance Reform'.
Fact: Fred Thompson did.
So much for Fred's "sterling credentials".
Be careful what you ask for Friend, you will generally get what you ask for.

The post Grunthor was responding to was a despicable attempt to imply something completely unfounded. Imho, it should be pulled.

Or just have their MSM pump up his numbers as the flavor of the week, like they are doing now.

All I'm saying is that had this happened to the other GOP candidates or to the Democrats, criticism here would have been swift and severe.
How can Fred! not know that this guy had a past criminal record. Regardless of whether it happened in the 70s/80s or in the 1870s, he had to have known the MSM will pounce on it.
You have this episode, you had Fred's! flip-flop on the lobbying for abortion, and you have the CFR, which later revealed he was much more involved in it than previously thought. You guys can worship Fred! and believe he's the 2nd coming, but to me he's just symptomatic of the problems that threaten to turn the GOP into the Whig party.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
But Fred's the almighty and can do no wrong, so let me commence to bowing down before his presence here. Glad to see you are finally coming around to the truth.

And I stand ready to accept all fiduciary responsibilities for these funds.
What with my recent bad turn of luck in Texas Holdem and that unfortunate event on Nevada Day with the dollar slots - the Samuel Adams “Draft Huck” pace car is in serious need of sponsorship.
Thanking everyone in advance,
Huck

25 years ago and people want to bring this up?You know, the fact that the Romney, Rudy, and Hillary camps are spending big bucks on research to find the "dirt" on Fred, and this is all they can come up with, should tell us something about the man.

I don't agree. Fred gave a good explanation on MtP of how this happened, and what he plans to do about it.
I do hope you will reconsider your opposition to Fred after the primaries.

Its just a joke. You CAN take a joke, right? Quick! Post a photo-shopped pic of Paul kissing a terrorist. That'll restore the thread's equilibrium.

As we have seen with W, blind loyalty can (and usually does) do more harm than good.
