Anyways, my point is this ....what do you think their plans are for Japan? A nation that killed millions upon millions of their citizens in rather gruesome ways. Well, China may have killed just as many of its own citizens (maybe more) over the years, but just because a nation is willing to kill its own people doesn't mean it will let another nation do the same. I'd bet a sizeable amount that one day China will seek to return the 'favor' to Japan, and knowing the Chinese it will probably have sufficient interest and a batch of baking powder added to it. I just hope that Japan continues to take the serious attention to its defence that it currently does (pound for pound one of the most effective militaries around), although to be VERY honest I can see why the Chinese would want to hit back (imagine if the Japanese had killed 20 million + Americans, and that we had done nothing about it because we were not in a position to do anything. Now imagine a situation where we are rapidly approaching a position to do something about it. A prudent man would say that revenge is not wise, but I'm certain there would still be some who would take the first opportunity at retribution. Let's say Japan needs to ensure its military stays sharp)

You can't focus solely on the survival rate of POWs under the Germans and ignore the survival rate of civilians under the Germans.
Besides, if the Germans had managed to gain a stalemate, or, Heaven forbid, win the war, those POWs would have been disposed of like so much rubbish.

You can certainly make the case that the leaders of each side were genuinely horrible many Japanese and German soldiers took great personal risks to do the right thing. You could certainly argue that they were the exception but words like "ALL" are very dangerous.

Yep, that's my comfort. I know these people can never be brought to justice on this earth--after all, are we going to catch and dissect alive an 85-year-old Japanese man? Would that make things alright again? No. So there is no earthly recompense for what they did. But God is just and will exact from them the penalty they genuinely deserve. They are old; it won't be long now. If you don't believe in God, heaven, and hell, okay. If you think that those of us who do are out of our minds, that's fine too. Eventually we'll all find out what the truth is.
