The key is profiling people - not things. You want to focus on how potential terrorists behave. We may need to adjust ethnic/religious profiling as circumstances warrant but its a vital tool. We cannot possibly stop every dangerous item from being brought aboard a plane but we can stop dangerous people from boarding a flight. To do that we have to get beyond obsessive political correctness that demands there is no difference between Muslims, Christians and Jews when it comes to who is most likely to commit a terrorist act.
