OK Freepers...
Dice and slice...this breaking news.
Pakistan has declared a State of Emergency.
Nukes are involved.
We just entered a very dangerous phase.
Kinda. This is a little different- but Musharraf took over power in Pakistan in a coup, I think it was in 1999- and has run the military and government til the unrest before the elections recently.
He’s in a tough situation- with Al Q and their coalition on one side and the more moderate Western-friendly Bhutto on the other.
Is that Judge panel the Supreme Court?
CNN: Martial law has been declared. Also, Bhutto is returning to Pakistan from Dubai a week earlier than expected.
CNN just reported that Bhutto was out of the country and is now on her way back to Pakistan. This may all work out- but it’s a scary moment- depending on how far AlQ is willing to go.
Uh oh.
Seems so:

Did B. Hussein Obama nuke them? According to him, that’s his foreign policy.
Right now its not AQ I’m concerned about....its the Pakistani military...will they back this move or...seize power from Mushy.
This is going to get very dicey...

Pakistan’s Musharraf invokes emergency rule By Kamran Haider
45 minutes ago.
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has decided to impose emergency rule, state-run television said on Saturday, in a move expected to put off elections due in January.
Nuclear-armed Pakistan’s internal security has deteriorated sharply in the past few months with a wave of suicide attacks by al Qaeda-inspired militants, including one last month that killed 139 people.
A senior security official told Reuters that Musharraf would seek approval for the move from the cabinet later, after which there were expectations he would address the nation.
The cabinet was due to start meeting at 7 pm.
Witnesses said paramilitary troops were deployed at state-run Pakistan Television and radio stations ahead of the announcement, which follows weeks of speculation that U.S. ally Musharraf might impose emergency rule or martial law.

I will bet you....Mushy blocks her return....or seizes her at the airport.....she is a distraction he doesn’t want right now.
You know, Bin Laden sent out a very UNhappy note stating things weren’t going well in Iraq - wanna bet this is his payback for a bad 07 - Time for the Daisy cutters to make a huge swath across the northwest region of Pakistan - along the tribal area that has been nothing but a hiding spot for Al Queda - DO it now before Pakistan is taken over...
Here’s another piece, taken from the Paki section of GEO TV:
Emergency imposed in country, New PCO issued
Saturday, November 03, 2007
ISLAMABAD: Emergency has been imposed all over the country and a new PCO has been issued.
The Chief of the Army Staff has announced the imposition of emergency throughout the country and the constitution 1973 has been suspended while the chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has been removed from his office.
The sources said that President General Pervez Musharraf is likely to address to the nation tonight in this regard.
There are reports that the transmission of the private television channels have been terminated in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
On this occasion, an important meeting of the Supreme Court Bar Association has been held in which it has been decided to strictly resist the imposition of martial law or emergency by the government.
It has also been decided in the meeting that any extra-judicial and extra-constitutional action will be strongly defied.
