I've always answered the 'safe, legal and rare' comment with "What other 'Constitutional' rights need to be 'rare'? Should we have fewer newspapers, less diversity of religion, less jury trials because more arbitrary judges are deciding guilt, or less freedom of speech and assembly?"
They don't come back with the answer of guns, because in the pea-sized brain of a liberal, there is no Constitutional right to own a weapon.
“Gun grabbing, gay agenda advocating, illegal alien supporting abortionist liberal.” Yup, that pretty much said it all.
