This is rather transparent. A religion is not a race. The only religion who's adherents like to claim it is would be Islam.
Oh, yes. I might be wrong, but I believe Jews generally differentiate between the Jewish ethnic group and the Jewish religion (Judaism). There is at least some grounds for considering the two to be the same at times.
