Christians in the Western world, NOT Lincoln, ended slavery. The British Navy is mostly what enforced the END of the slave trade. It was a deeply moral and economic issue that did not involve secrets and quiet troubled hearts, as does abortion, which I regard as ugly and wicked, but which I also respect as being between the heart of the sinner and God. Every person comes to God in his or her own way, and YOU, my FRiend, have NO PLACE IN IT. But you seem to think you do. Why is that?
If you do not see the vast MORAL difference between enslaving human beings for financial profit and a girl pregnant out-of-wedlock who seeks an abortion, then you are willfully deceiving yourself in your heart.
“If you do not see the vast MORAL difference between enslaving human beings for financial profit and a girl pregnant out-of-wedlock who seeks an abortion, then you are willfully deceiving yourself in your heart.”
They are both harming the innocent. So, they are both wrong. Abortion is murder. So to say “abortion is between a person and God” is just plain sophistry. Unless, of course, one takes the position that murder is just between a person and God.
I’m all for liberty(freedom), but not for license. There is no freedom where there is no law. When each person does what is right in his/her own eyes, you have anarchy - the antithesis of true freedom. My problem with libertarians is that they want to decriminalize many things that are a blight on humanity in the name of so-called liberty. In other words they want to be able to freely be libertines. Libertine - “One who acts without moral restraint; a dissolute person”
BTW - Stop the direct and personal name calling. Ad hominen attacks are not allowed on this forum. I have addressed issues, ideas, and candidates - you have attacked my character personnally. You can’t go around and personally attack everyone because they won’t go along with your views on who to vote for and why. I would think that one of the most “sacred” of American liberties to be able to have an opinion - even if others don’t agree.
