We just had a relatively large earthquake in the San Jose area, lasting more than 20 seconds.
For the silicon valley ping list
Felt it here in Almaden Valley. Biggest one since loma prieta!!!!!!!!!
I did. Its my first. No damage or anything, but it was a constant shaking for about a half minute. Weeeeee!
Felt it rolling here in Stockton. Pretty cool. Hope everyone’s ok. Heard it was a 5.6
Felt it here in Campbell, CA, a rattly jolt for five or ten seconds, then quivery floors for another while. My cat is still walking on eggs about it—his first earthquake.
hope everyone is ok!!!!! I’ll stick with my blizzards and tornados!
Uhhh, yaaaaa... North San jose here , quite a ride.. usgs has it 5miles NNE of Alum Rock
Heck yeah. That one went on for awhile. I live in Los Gatos.
Felt it in the Central Valley, 50 miles northeast of Silicon Valley. Going to check on hubbie who is staying over there tonight. He’s not answering his office phone but his answering machine came on. I assume the office there is still intact. Still, hoping he will call as he doesn’t turn on his cell unless he wants to call out.
5.6. Damm, I guessed 5.

Felt it in San Carlos. Didn’t feel that bad and lasted maybe 5-10 seconds.
the cat wandered around a bit and climbed under the blanket, she’s still there..
Ddude, we felt it here downtown Reno. The one arm bandits were spilling five dollar coins like there is no tomorrow. Grabbed me some before casino security guys came along, and, believe it or not, started grabbing some for themselves. The cat came out ahead! Woo hoo!
I was only in one noticeable quake and will never laugh at anyone's reactions again.
