Don't know if we're allowed to quote this website.
Don't get cute with disconnecting the logical course of the debate, as well as putting quotes around words that I never used as you did with the word "evil" in your last response.
I hope that you're back on track now, you who thinks chihuahuas are game animals.
Kudos.
Seems that even some Freepers think it's perfectly OK to eat dogs and how dare anyone say otherwise. Eating dog ain't no different than chicken, you understand.
Some views really are a benchmark for decency, in my opinion. We can agree to disagree about social services, the role of government, the limits of congress and the US Constitution, and so on and still make sense of one another.
... But if someone comes up to you and tells you they're in favor of eating dogs, man, what would you think they're decent and moral about?
Yes please. ;9)
As for the "my country" comment, no, you were the person that started that. Look at your post #56.
The original poster at post #2 was talking about Vietnamese who lived in the USA who were allegedly capturing stray hounds and eating them. Another poster replied to him saying "What's the matter with that as long as it's done humanely?". I replied to that poster by saying that it's un-American and a filthy primitive act that doesn't belong in our country.
Then YOU came in here and said something nearly incoherent about the whole world not being America, misquoted me that I think people are "evil" for eating dogs, that you have eaten dogs yourself, and that if I lived in Russia.
Then I said 'Er, no', and then you said 'Well, you started it'.
You seem to mistake things very easily and put words in people's mouths that they never said. I don't know how to help you with that, really.
In the first place you said, "my country".
In the second place, dogs were eaten in this country long before the Europeans "discovered" this country. So don't act so high and mighty just because you don't believe that eating meat other than what you eat is such a dastardly act.
Once again, I didn't misquote you, I tried to distill your thoughts down to their essence by what you had posted, but if you would like maybe you can explain exactly what you do think.
And I don't need help, thank you, it's apparent that you need help by realizing that America is not the only place in the world where meat is eaten and beef, chicken, and pork are not the only meats eaten inthe world.
We don't, normally, eat dog meat in the USA because that's the way we have been raised.
Understand, though, that that is not a prevailing thought throughout the world.
Before the USA came to exist, there was no country here. There were tribal aborignals who did all sorts of things. Then the USA was caused into existence and the prevailing attitude became that we don't eat dogs, amongst many other things that define us as Americans. That's what 'country' means. You meant 'land' in your illustration.
The prevailing thought here where you live is that people from lands where they eat dogs are backwards and barely civilized primitives at best. In addition, we're also likely to find incest, child rape, obscene sanitary customs, and horrid conditions for women where they eat hounds. That to me is no coincidence. I mean, who are YOU to judge that child molestation is some sort of "Evil", huh?
Yes, you misquoted me with an invention of your own. You put quotes around the word as if I said it. Don't do that.
You're an odd bird. I would probably recommend that you don't offer it up to people that you're in favor of eating dogs and have eaten dog, but maybe you're just fine with being open about it.
You're likely to find those same things here in the USA. It doesn't matter whether the people eat dogs or not.
You're an odd bird. I would probably recommend that you don't offer it up to people that you're in favor of eating dogs and have eaten dog, but maybe you're just fine with being open about it.
You're correct, I am an odd bird and I am fine with people knowing that I have eaten dog.
I didn't say I was in favor of it. Now you're putting words in my mouth.
After living in Southeast Asia for almost 6 years I've probably eaten a number of things that would make many people sick at their stomachs just at the thought. That doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with eating these things, people just aren't used to the idea.
Meat is meat. Some meat is more desirable than other meat because of cultural differences, or because the meat has less fat, or more fat (ever had a piece of true Kobe beef?).
Put your cultural differences aside for a moment and tell the truth, if you were starving, literally, would you eat a dog?
I'm not arguing this point just to be arguing. I'm trying to make you see the absurdity of the statements you've made that JUST because a culture doesn't think that dog meat is taboo they must, therefore, embrace all the bad things that you've written about.
Lets wok the dog.
I didn’t think the thread would get this big.
Nice job, everybody

Yes - it’s an actual Filipino recipe.
Apparently dog and lamb have similar tastes. Since I don’t like lamb, I don’t think I’ll be trying this any time soon.
A Billion Chinese can’t be wrong??
