THE HORRENDOUS PHOTOS OF SHAME

“Dear friends, words fail me.  These photos of a murdered monk were taken in secret in a mortuary.   Just think of how many more have been subjected to the same destiny. I beg you to make these images known to as many people as possible, so that the world knows that simple condemnation of these bastards [the junta] is not enough”.

With this enraged cry, through Burmese exiles, these two photos have made their way to us, which we have decided to publish along with this warning: these are cruel and violent images, perhaps not suitable for all of our readers.

But they are the photos of shame:

1)      The junta’s shame; today it is broadcasting across the globe its “inept” attempts at reconciliation with the Buddhist monks, forcing them to accept gifts.  But because the Monastery leaders have forbidden their Bonzi to do so, the military has stage a farce with false monks for a false reconciliation.  The junta is trying to make the Buddhist authorities understand the repression was “necessary”.  But these photos mock every good intention, demand that forgiveness is sought and a radical change take place in the country.  According to diplomatic sources, this latest repression by Myanmar’s military – which defines itself as being socialist and secular, but seeks the monk’s support in order to continue its dominance – has cost the lives of hundreds and the arrest and detention of over 6 thousand.

2)      Our shame; because beyond scattered mutterings condemning the scandal of the military’s violence, in the end we really believed that it was just a case of yet another repression of a few demonstrators, when instead it is a system which murders, slaughters, enslaves a population of 50 million people.

3)      The UN and the international community’s shame; which are unable to find effective means of guaranteeing democracy to a people who chose democracy a long time ago.   The problem is that soft diplomacy is being used in dealings with the junta, where instead we need to give a voice to global civil society to face what is an outright humanitarian emergency.  The International Red Cross needs to gain access to Myanmar to visit its prisons; the UN labour office to visit the slaves of forced labour; NGO’s need access to help the population decimated poverty imposed by the Junta’s dominance of the economy with China Thailand and India.

Pope Benedict XVI asked the world to pray for the people of Myanmar and for the “painful trial” that they are being placed under, very similar to the martyrdom of the Blessed Innocents who, without realising it, witnessed Christ at the cost of their own blood, spilled by the furry of a beastly power.

If you look at the pix, definitely do not allow a sensitive person or child to be looking over your shoulder. I have seen what I thought were some shocking ones in the last couple of months, but...

I know...
I tell you , I want to see someone go in to the Junta leaders houses and drag them out in the streets and do a Mussolini number on all of them... CIA should major fund and assist the Shan States Army and Karen NLA . It appears that the helpless lowland Burmese are powerless to stand up to thugs with the rifles . Let other men with rifles stand up to them ....

The UN and the international community’s shame; which are unable to find effective means of guaranteeing democracy to a people who chose democracy a long time ago.

This inhumanity is a beast; as is anyone who exercises it. . .or 'exorcises' it. . .by their denying, thwarting. .hindering another human being's right to freedom. Those who are complicit - who enable the beast - share the responsibility of this evil of 'cruel and ignorant Will' imposed against another.

The Left will remain silent as if comotose, of course. . .the U.N.; disinterested. But ask them about Enron. . or Haliburton. . .the evils of 'corporate, capitalistic - and by their association - American 'greed'. . .or just the merits of 'waterboarding' and they will come alive. . .

(What does 'we are the world' really mean to the Libs who love to remind us; that we are. What does 'Give Peace a Chance' mean to these murdered. . .tortured Monks? Beyond the implied compassion; it would seem, we find only the shallowest interpretations. Making a virtue of self-love - self-aggrandizement - at the cruelest expense of others; appears to be the more authentic intent behind these words so lovingly put forth by what was and continues to be a narcissistic Me Generation. . .)

According to the Left, these photos represent peace. How do I justify that? Because if the U.S. were to lead any movement to put real pressure on the Burmese junta, the protesters would come out with their “Peace” signs demanding protection of the status quo.

It stands to reason that the best friends that these filthy generals in Rangoon have are the Butchers of Beijing.
