Light rail is expensive. Bicycle paths are very cheap, especially when run on an existing right of way. Cutting them won’t fund much of anything.

My point is that most ‘highway funding’ goes for most anything but highways.

Light rail is expensive.
Which is why I don't understand why Perry is such a big fan of it. Light rail has a very specific set of conditions under which it can operate well, efficiently, and without draining money, and Perry (and his appointees and their committees, etc., etc.) have pushed it as the "Wonder Drug That Will Cure What Ails Ya!".
