A distinction much of the press misses (or ignores). I married into a family of Latvian immigrants who spent extra years in a DP camp to wait for a chance to come here legally and they have no desire either for so many people to jump the line that it squeezes out the legitimate immigrants.
Not to mention we have the quota system to try to get a balance of motivated people from all over the world.
But, if I emphasize the positive in my previous post, it because the topic was “what we can do” - even for states we don;t live in we can try to influence public opinion.
Right - Lou Dobbs has been following this story closely and he’s had some of the DMV people on his program - as well as some Dems who are outraged. I’m looking forward to his program tonight.

Alot of people think the term “balkanization of America” is just hype. But the ethnocentric lobby groups, special interest business groups (U.S. Chamber of Commerce, et al. who love those low wages with no benefits, and ‘off the books’ workers) and politicians pandering for the illegal vote) are ALL exacerbating tensions between Americans. It’s not reported in the MSM but some of the most violent conflicts are between blacks and illegals, and that goes far beyond gang fights. It’s been documented that employment of illegal alien labor has lowered the wages of ALL middle class citizens. There is a host of other areas where tensions are increasing.
They’ll probably register the dog in Austin if he barks in Spanish.
I guess in theory that’s correct but I think your phrase “if we ever get any administration determined to do that” answers the question. But there is little such desire in the Executive, Legislative or Judicial branches. Just consider that very recently Congress killed Vitter’s legislation to punish “santuary cities.” The very notion of such cities - that are immune and beyond federal and state laws - is a return to feudalism. When a nation becomes unable and unwilling to respect its own laws - well, you know what eventually happens.
This is why I will NEVER vote for Giuliani.
And what do we do when our own Party sides with the MSM to keep a liberal like Rudy on top of the polls? Kind of hard to boot them if your own party defends them...
Not to sound simplistic DC... enjoy life, remain optimistic, educate those who may not comprehend the threats to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I have NEVER heard Lou Dobbs. Is he okay or would it be a waste of time to listen to him?
It also works for voting, in some states.

I don’t but it would be fun to throw the Mexican legal requirements in the MSM’s face when they make the claims about how unfair it is that we require people especially illegal alliens here to have insurance
Enjoy life while those in power are busy trying to take everything away that makes life enjoyable? Educate those who are being indoctrinated by a public education system run amok? Remain optimistic when every day brings more news of Federal or State over reach and unConstitutional violation of our founding principles?
I am optimistic we CAN change things. But only when more of you wake up and realize that it isn't going to be easy, it isn't going to be fun, you WILL have to get personally involved, and we will all be in for a rough time in the sort run.
The solution defies logic. If NY issues illegals a distinctly different license, then ICE should take the list of those issued and start deporting people. They are here illegally.

:) Upstate is conservative that way. When Spitzer tries to play his gun-grabbing games, and I have no doubt he will eventually he'll find himself way his over head.
