ok. let's go over it again, so the we understand what the man said. he said, "Well, if they want to win, Giuliani. He's really good, he's articulate - he's just a leader."
He did not say that FReepers would like him. He did say that, if the GOP wants to win, Rudy has the best shot making that happen.
He did not say Rudy was the next Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, or anyone else. He did admire Rudy's charisma.
Now, whether you like Rudy or not, he is the only candidate currently announced who is capable of defeating X42's spouse. That doesn't mean you have to like him. But it is a practical and political reality.
So, slandering Gerald Ford is juvenile way of disagreeing with his point.
Let's see, can we get a measure of Latino slander in here while we're at it?

Let's see, can we get a measure of Latino slander in here while we're at it? What's that got to do with anything? Do you view Guliaini as a latino?
I thought the snippets of Ford's views on the Clintons in the same book were very telling. Most of us down south already knew a lot of this back in the 80s

Rudy fails 1 and 3 outright and is very doubtful on 2.
I spent a lot of time thinking What do I want for the next POTUSA?.
I made a long list and narrowed it down to just three.
They are:
1) The President must have high moral standards.
2} The President must make America stronger.
3} The President must make Americans more self reliant.
I made a list of all people with their hat in the ring.
Rudy fail 1 and 3 outright and is very doubtful on 2.
They all failed at least one of my three except for our next President DUNCAN HUNTER.

You’re exactly correct about the content of Ford’s remarks.
But who can’t resist a good jab at Ford’s Rino-ness?
To: the invisib1e hand
Wrong. Rino Rudy will split the party leading to a dem win if he is nominated.

He also said He would win the presidency. Was he wrong then and right now, or wrong then and wrong now?
Asking Jerry Ford how to win anything but a district election is something like asking a poodle-groomer to tame an alligator. He was wrong on issues and wrong on strategy. If you want to destroy both our 2008 chances and our long term chances, nominate Rudy.

Now, whether you like Rudy or not, he is the only candidate currently announced who is capable of defeating X42's spouse. You are so wrong. He is the one candidate that is certain to guarantee a loss.
There is vast sector of the electorate who vote based on ideology. They don't calculate strategy. They don't vote for the lesser of two evils. They vote for the person they agree with. If they don't see someone they agree with they wait until next time. Rudy will NOT get these people out of their busy lives and to the polls. It's that simple.
Don't tell me how stupid they are or how wrong or spiteful they are. They are what they are, and they won't go out to vote for a liberal just because he has an R next to his name. Period.

he is the only candidate currently announced who is capable of defeating X42's spouse Hogwash. He saw that he was losing in the NY Senate race so the spineless loser backed out. Hillary and Rudy are the two most divisive charachters in the race. If he wins the primary, we all lose.

Anyone who thinks Mrs. Clinton is the be all, end all of the '08 election has already conceded defeat.
But it is a practical and political reality.
No it is not; it is an impractical stupidity. He couldn't (or wouldn't) beat her in a senate election.

Unfortunately, it will go right over the heads of most if not all of the Ruby bashers.
Even with your totally accurate conciseness, there are none so blind as those that refuse to see.

Rudy is the least likely of all the candidates to beat Hillary. Gerald Ford was our Jimmy Carter.
As far as Hillary goes, anyone can beat her but Duncan Hunter would annihilate her.

Yeah...because Gerald Ford was such an excellent political strategerist.
After all, he easily defeated Jimmy Carter in 1976.
Errr...ummm...
If Giuliani is the nominee, there will be a significant third party candidacy, and Hillary will win easily.
