Run Paulie is no pro-life champion but a two-faced libertarian phony. He tells pro-lifers that he is pro-life and files bills to ban all abortions (which, along with the rest of his bills, are NEVER pursued but are mere photo ops). SIMULTANEOUSLY, he assures the pro-aborts (many of whom are atheist libertarians) that he does not see federal jurisdiction to end abortion.

You're fortunate that the FR rule about lying about conservative candidate's records doesn't apply to Paul here, per FR management's disdain for Paul. If it were up to me, your posts lying about Paul's pro-life record would have been deleted already.

Per post #12 - I know you disagree with Paul’s anti-war views, but are you going to allow a poster to lie about Paul’s committment to the pro-life cause?

Liberal-tarians should run in their own primaries.

We enjoy the cursing and moaning you guys do afterwards when our one-percenters causes your RINO to lose in the general.

No, Rudy is unacceptable as well. I will not vote for a pro abort candidate!
I am for Duncan Hunter. The best conservative in the race :)

Oh come on! We have a poster here who is clearly lying about a candidate's conservative record, which is specifically against Forum rules. Now Paul might be anti-war but he is NOT a pro-abortionist. So are you going to delete the post or not?

Either way, the guy is an idiot. The more people that come on this forum like that guy that just make up outright lies, the further into irrelevence this site will become. The right champions (at least used to) truth, honestly, and open debate. Some days on this forum, it’s more about slander, name calling, and outright lying. All because you disagree with Iraq. I agree with most here about Iraq, and believe we must absolutely stay the course. I disagree with RPaul but this is at the point that this site is getting close to kook level on him and a couple other subjects.

Hey, EEE. When someone posts a lie stating that a presidential candidate I strongly support is in favor of abortion, my pro-life feelings are very hurt. In other words, I feel that such a lie is both discourteous to me and is a personal attack on me. What do you think?

Please enjoy our forum, but also please remember to use common courtesy when posting and refrain from posting personal attacks...

Where?

It's in the old Fred threads from the Spring. Back when the Rudybots used to try to drag Hunter and Fred down to Rudy's level, posts were deleted then. I think banned FReeper areafiftyone posted that one thread about Fred supporting abortion early on and FReepers called him out on it, and there was an unspoken rule about lying about conservative candidate's record.

It's not a stated rule....but still. Everybody and their Momma know that Paul is pro-life. Now is FR seriously going to allow posters to smear the work that Paul has done on behalf of our unborn both as a private citizen and as an elected official? Or the fact that Paul's foreign policy views are radioactive then he's fair game?

I can understand the criticism of Paul's foreign policy. But implying that he's pro-abortion despite massive evidence to the contrary is like getting sucker-punched in the chest and having the wind knocked out of you. If FR allows posters to smear Paul's pro-life record, given the fact that the owner and 99.9% of all FReepers are staunchly pro-life, then I don't know what to do. I'm crying as I'm typing this.

Eh, don’t cry. Some folks eat alphabet soup, vomit up bile and letters, and think it’s a post.

Paul would secure the borders. Muslims would be banned from immigrating here.

“Everybody and their Momma know that Paul is pro-life.”

Anyone calling Ron Paul Pro-abort is simply not paying attention. Besides, there are so many other reasons to oppose him, to lie about his position on life issues is pointless, baseless and a waste of time.

Refute it - or live with it.

Refute what? Rudybots claimed that Fred was pro-abortion early on and their posts and accounts got deleted, and it was an unofficial rule that FReepers who lied about Fred or Hunter's conservative records they got warned about it. But apparently, posters can smear Paul's pro-life record and everybody does a shot of Crown and give each other high-fives and enjoys the photoshopped pics.

his [Ron Paul]...non-interventionalist message has been consistent for as long as he's been in the public eye.

Yep, and in Ron Paul's world the Iraqi people would still be fed into industrial shredding machines on the whim of Saddam or his depraved sons, women would be routinely abducted and taken to Saddam-sanctioned 'rape rooms', and by this point Saddam would be racing the clock to come up with a functional nuclear weapon before Iran does, because President Ron Paul wouldn't have any concerns about Tehran developing a nuke, because he would be content to help little kids roll eggs on the White House lawn on Easter, which would end up coinciding with 'Fortress America Day', which would be as much in tune with reality as the Easter Bunny is.

If he has any common ground with code pink or dennis kucinich, file that under "a broken clock is right twice a day".

That would be a cuckoo clock I presume.

Heck, I bet even me and you agree on a few things.

Well I wouldn't say we're off to a good start because we damn sure don't agree on Ron Paul.

Apparently all those babies Paul delivered ended up being aborted anyway. Oooh, and he spoke at the National Right to Life Conference this summer, which, if you unfurl the banner, it says NARAL Pro-Choice America underneath it.

Just for grins and giggles, let's look once again at the 'offensive' post #12 when BlackElk said:

Run Paulie is no pro-life champion but a two-faced libertarian phony. He tells pro-lifers that he is pro-life and files bills to ban all abortions (which, along with the rest of his bills, are NEVER pursued but are mere photo ops).

This would appear to be accurate. I am not aware of any bills filed by Ron Paul with the intention of banning abortions that made it out of the House and sent to the Senate, and the fact that abortions are still freely available on demand would seem to validate that.

SIMULTANEOUSLY, he assures the pro-aborts (many of whom are atheist libertarians) that he does not see federal jurisdiction to end abortion.

The only thing you need to do BlackElk, is to come up with a quote or citation where Ron Paul has expressed such a viewpoint about there not being a federal role in ending abortion. Based on Paul's well known desire to cut, slash and burn the federal government until it's about the size of the government under President Franklin Pierce, finding a quote or reference for this ought to be easy for you BlackElk.

PaleoPaulie is effectively [emphasis mine, mkj] a pro-abort who will refuse to get ANYTHING done to end abortion. Just one more instance of Dr. Demento viewing the constitution as a crippling document preventing us from doing what is right to end the American Holocaust. He is a fake, a phony and a fraud.

That word "effectively" is the defining word. BlackElk has not lied about Ron Paul at all, he has pointed out that because of Paul's views on limited government, that a Ron Paul Presidency would most likely do nothing to end abortion in America, and while he might use the illustrious 'bully pulpit' to condemn abortion and to discourage Americans from considering such murderous acts, that and a couple of bucks will get you a cup o' coffee and maybe a small donut at your local Denny's.

In this area, Ron Paul's views are basically what we hear out of Rudy-Tooty, that he is "personally opposed" to abortion, but he isn't going to do anything about it.

The post (#12) should stand as it is.
