All the “Free Tibet” bumper stickers in every Volvo in the world is not going to impress China one bit. Over time they are slowly destroying anything that is left of Tibet. The native population of Tibet is slowly being replaced with ethnic Han Chinese. One thing the Chinese are good at is long range planning, and patience.

What ever happened to "FREE TIBET!"? Someone realized it was worth money and auctioned it off on ebay.
No more free Tibet.
Tibet to the highest bidder.

He’s doing what little he can, which is basically to work on public opinion and keep the issue of Tibet alive.
China does what it wants, and nobody is willing to confront them on this issue.
The Chinese were outraged by the prize Bush gave him, and that seems to be about as much as anyone can do.
Maybe it will be like dripping water, and over a long course of time it will have an effect. In any case, what else can he do?

I absolutely believe the Dalai Lama has the best intentions. I just don't think there is any chance that the method chosen has any chance of freeing Tibet.
"And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Thomas Jefferson

I agree. I honestly don’t think the D Lama has any plan to do “anything” about Tibet......but I do find his choice of friends interesting

What ever happened to "FREE TIBET!"?What ever happens to free anything anymore? As soon as the word gets out, poof! -- vultures swoop down and it's gone.
How long did that printer last when you put it on the sidewalk with a sign that said, "Free Printer!" Well, OK, no one needs an old printer. But just imagine doing that with a whole, beautiful country like Tibet!
To: iopscusa
And your proof of this would be what exactly?

How about the Evangelical Free Church.
(No, no, no... I’m only kidding. I know that the name means there aren’t any Evangelicals in it.)

Like the bumper sticker says, “FREE TIBET...with purchase”

Free Tibet
has been replaced by:
Not On My Watch: Save Darfur
as the humanitarian bumpersticker fashion statement of choice for snotty boomer, genX and echo-boomer brain dead yuppies.
