I think you’re right. Bin Laden is dead.

It would be too easy to prove he’s alive with a video in which he discusses current events in convincing detail. None of his videos in recent years are like that. They are all open to interpretation, like reading tea leaves.

As you say, why would he pass up the opportunity to thumb his nose at Bush? If he were alive, he wouldn’t.

But he’s not alive. He’s a thin layer of ash sandwiched between huge layers of collapsed rock.

As posted earlier, one does not have to be from a specific side of the political spectrum to question the latest audio/video bits from bin laden and offer some alternative explanations bordering the conspiracy. Orwell's 1984 fits at any time, at any Government. Following this we have entered a phase that borders the absurd, that means even the obvious false is not questioned anymore, the people "behind" the scenes are 10 times smarter then we think and all we do is watch a political zoo/drama with the purpose of diversion & distraction and self enhancement.
