I always liked Al D’Amato. Sure, he milked the feds for all the pork he could get for New York.
But he also managed to stay pro-life, genuinely Catholic, and a social conservative in a very difficult state to maintain those positions. He refused to compromise on those issues. He was finally voted out on bogus charges of corruption by the MSM, especially the NY Times, which hated him for his pro-life stance.
This makes a lot of sense to me.
I'm not too fond of D'Amato or his "greater good." I also remember how he helped cover up the Foster murder with the phony hearings he conducted. But if he somehow helps us avoid the CSQ then maybe I can forget.

Makes sense to me too. Fred’s the only one who will carry the South and get time to focus on the rest of America.
Rudy and Romney will never carry the south Sasily - many conservatives - escpecially Southern Baptists and like minded evangelicals - will stay home in droves.
Talk all you want - Rudy is not a viable candidate in places like Texas - abortion, adultery and a flip flop. Romney’s religion will also hamper him.
Not being negative, just a realist.

Not through stupidity do they misjudge, its through a wanton elitist platform politically that prompts them to disregard truth in their rhetoric.
Hearing from Fred, the personal endeavors made by all who have a wanton lust for freedom via their sacrifice would be very appealing also. : - D
Extremely well-written. D’Amato had shades of RINO but was a rock-ribbed conservative by NY standards, and I always rather admired him. Good on you, Senator D’Amato for endorsing the right man in this race.
It’s also interesting that he passed up another fellow New York Italian-American to support Fred. That says a LOT if you know anything about Italian-American New Yorkers.

but someone’s still gonna have to throw me to the mat and twist my arm to convince me to vote for Thompson..
