The documentary argues that the federal court judge overseeing the trial was appointed by President Clinton and went overboard in keeping Mrs. Clinton’s name out of the trial. He also claims that the Clintons may have had a hand in his imprisonment in a Brazilian jail during portions of the conflict.
After he returned from, Brazil, Paul reinitiated a lawsuit against the Clintons, Levin and Mrs. Clinton’s campaign fund seeking to recoup his investment. The entire purpose of the fundraiser was to court Bill Clinton, he said. He acted on the belief that he would be rewarded later.
When Mrs. Clinton told papers that she had never taken money from him, she lied and violated election laws, Paul claims. He further argues that she knew why he was making the contributions and breached the agreement he had made. He alleges that Levin stole his potential business partner and caused the collapse of Stan lee Media.
The case against Mrs. Clinton was dismissed in 2006, but an appeal to reverse that ruling is pending before a California appeals court. Mrs. Clinton’s campaign finance manager was acquitted and her campaign committee has agreed to pay $35,000 in fines for misreporting donations related to the gala and was instructed to file corrected documents.
