Ad showing 'homosexual' newborn causes stir in Italy

ROME (AFP) - An ad campaign to counter discrimination against gays has stirred up passions in Italy, using a poster that shows a newborn with the word "homosexual" written on his wristband. ADVERTISEMENT

"Sexual orientation is not a choice," reads the slogan on the poster that was going up all across the central-northern Tuscany region and was published in national newspapers Wednesday.

"Using newborns to make people believe that homosexual impulses are an innate characteristic is dishonest and a disgrace," said Christian Democratic lawmaker Luca Volonte.

Gay philosopher Gianni Vattimo said the ad was in "bad taste" and that the slogan was "only partly true."

Italy's main gay rights association ArciGay, for its part, praised the initiative, saying homosexuality is an "unchangeable fact that should be respected."

Or imagine if the homosexual “gene” could be isolated. Everyone knows that homosexuals have such a difficult life, that is why they have special rights and protections bestowed upon them. In the liberal mind, the homosexual baby should be aborted to aleviate a life of discrimiation full of persecution and hate crimes. The left would be all over themselves twisting and contorting trying to validate or dismiss one of two issues near and dear to their heart.

We would find out if they revere homosexuality or orbortion the most.

You can already see that in feminists opinions of abortions for the purposes of sex selection in China and India (and probably elsewhere). Suddenly that "unviable tissue mass" has rights.

People are plainly born with disordered tendencies, and I mean everybody. For some, a disordered response toward carbohydrates, or alcohol; for some, a disordered irascibility, or impatience, or lust or sloth or gluttony; for some, a disordered lack of logic or lack of empathy.

I tell you, I feel a lot in common with folks who struggle with homosexuality. A lot.

I grew up in a small town and as early as kindergarten there were two “sissies” in my class.

Just curious. Was there a father present in either of these boys' households?

I know the dress-wearing kid didn’t. Not sure about the other kid, though. It seems like he lived with an older woman too, though.

I’m curious about this because I was raised by women. Grandma wasn’t always helpful with the male development side. If I got bored, she would try to make me crochet or sew. She also babied me too much. Mom was different, though. She bought me boy stuff, signed me up for sports and made me be a little man around the house. If she hadn’t, I wonder how things might be different.

If homosexuality is genetic then how come they havent breeded themselves out of existence?

An excellent question, and one for which there are many hypotheses and few accepted answers. Even if homosexuality isn't per se genetic, one might expect humans to have evolved resistance to homosexuality because of its high costs.

One argument I've seen is that a limited number of homosexuals might have increased fitness in an early society, if they were more likely to care for their younger siblings and for the children of close relatives.

From a selective point of view, an individual gets the same fitness from having a sibling survive to reproductive adulthood as they do from having children themselves, so evolution wouldn't have disfavored them.

There are many instances in nature where non-reproducing individuals confer advantages on their society -- see worker bees as one obvious example.

And when is that homo gene gonna be identified so parents will know whether to abort or not.

...ok...that is twisted humor.

But when that homo gene is identified (even thought there isn’t one), the leftist will have a real conundrum....pro-abort, or pro-homo.

It will be grand to watch them fight among themselves!

Of course the result will be a leftist judicial ruling declaring that to abort an unborn homo will be considered a hate crime of the worse kind and worthy of the death penalty.

There is a near 100% chance that at least a very reare occurence of hormonal wackiness will cause confused sexuality. But the percentage of degenerate sexuality is way beyond accidents of hormones. But the degenerates would love for folsk to believe the lies, just like they demand to be identified by their sexual proclivities while demanding that they not be called out for their degeneracy.
