Pittsburgh has a republican that is poised to make the Mayor’s race competitive for the first time in nearly one hundred years.
DeLay came to help inject some mojo back into a lagging party base, they lost Santorum, Hart and a local county executive that had brought stability to the party.
Some may view him as a curious choice, based on what I read it appears he was effective.

Thanks for the insight. My curiousity was there as I couldn’t put a connection between him and Pittsburg per se. I hope he was able to help and maybe a GOP mayor can be elected. Although I’m not from that part of the country I was a Steeler fan for a time back in the days of Bradshaw.
