From Goebbels' Principles of Propaganda by Leonard W. Doob

14. Propaganda must label events and people with distinctive phrases or slogans.

a. They must evoke desired responses which the audience previously possesses

b. They must be capable of being easily learned

c. They must be utilized again and again, but only in appropriate situations

d. They must be boomerang-proof

18. Propaganda must facilitate the displacement of aggression by specifying the targets for hatred.

After going through the multi-paragraph whinefest at the so-called “National Project to Defend Dissent & Critical Thinking in Academia” website, I looked a place to leave a comment, but apparently they aren’t interested in the views of anyone other than themselves. Predictable from a leftist group that disrupted a public event on the grounds that their views wouldn’t be heard by an audience who’d come to hear a specific speaker discuss a specific subject.

Sir, you are clearly of another world and have overdosed on the kool aid. You lost me and likely most with your inane comment about feeling as if you would not be heard because you were requested to write down your questions. This type of request is universal at these sorts of events. Your excuses are as weak as your political philosophy

What you meant was you and your communist friends wanted to ensure that ONLY your side was heard at the expense of any other views except yours.

You and your kind are merely thugs and your position is so very weak that you cannot possibly allow any conflicting views to be heard.

BTW, since you are admitted Communists, can you tell us any instance and any part of the world where Communism has succeeded? No, how about not succeeded but been as economically beneficial at the rate of even 5% of capitalism and democracy?

I think it was Churchill who said it best when he claimed

“The vice of capitalism is that it stands for the unequal distribution of goods and services,” said Churchill. “The virtue of socialism is that it stands for the equal distribution of misery.”

there would have been a much better chance that the disruption would have calmed.

So the author is admitting that there was a disruption. The anarchic concept of freedom allows disruptors to violate the private property rights of owners of theaters whenever they feel like it.So, where was the university? What is their policy with respect to anarchic freedom? If they disagreed with the concept of anarchic freedom, then they should have brought the disruptions to a halt since they are the owners of the property.

I simply MUST once again post the single most definitive statement by the worlds foremost political satirist. Read it my Communist friend and take note of the accuracy of its every word.:

"At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child - miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosphy of sniveling brats." -- P.J. O'Rourke

The students at Emory revealed themselves to be racist brown-shirts.

Nothing more need be known about them.

Adolph would be so proud of these guys.

“when I see hate and wrong in the world. They raised me to protest injustice” This kidiot fails to realize that he actually stood for those who would have him in chains for this very act.

I just sent a letter to the President...

Dear Mr. Wagner, I am the parent of 3 high school students and we are starting our college search. Your University was of interest because it fit in with my kids academic qualifications, but I am crossing it off the list due to the recent incident with the Horowitz speech. If you can't control a small crowd during a speech, then I can only wonder how poorly will you control my kid's safety on campus?

In addition, you even had two admininstrators at the event, a vice-provost and a vice president and you still couldn't control the crowd to let the man speak! I've seen the video of the event. I also have to wonder if the seemingly tacit approval (by lack of any crowd control) of the crowd antics towards a conservative speaker will mean that my child will not get a diversified education and will instead get a left-wing indoctrination. If that's the case, then I'll spend my $45,000 a year elsewhere. I don't buy shoddy merchandise.

we arrived to the event Wednesday night to a few stacks of index cards with instructions to write our questions down. I believe that it was this situation that led many to shout out, feeling their voices would not be heard otherwise..

So that's why! Ever since the Left's disruptive and often violent activities of the 1960s I've pondered, Why?

All along it was those wicked index cards.

There's got to be a way of controlling who can own those things.

A chant broke out, "Racist, Sexist, Anti-Gay, David Horowitz Go Away."

Gee..the author said it was "quiet" and that Horowitz "chose to stop his speech". Who would continue to speak with such a chant filling the room?

These wackos just can't leave David alone. I watched him speak here in LA a few years ago (at a conservative event) and of course they infiltrated and tried to disturb him. They looked like rabid mummies and sounded like one's too chanting, then screaming, glassed over eyes--wacked out and brainwashed to the extreme. These people have some serious emotional problems.

Of course that day they were immediatly stopped and escorted out leaving us to enjoy his great contribution.

The pinnacle of hypocrisy ...

... is this sophomoric attempt to justify the unjustifiable. Have you ever noticed how children and hypocrites can always manufacture the exception to the rule? How something is always wrong when someone else does it, but is okay when I do? So sexual harrassment is bad when Anita Hill ALLEGES it is done to her by Clarence Thomas, but when it is PROVEN to have been done by Bill Clinton, the feminists remain strangely silent. Video games and wanton behavior on TV don't have any influence on cultural values, but Rush Limbaugh is twisting peoples' minds with his commentary on the radio. And when David Horowitz mounts a campaign to educate students about killers in their midst, he is a bad guy, so it's logically consistent to shout him down and still be champion of free speech.

So this loser says he supports censoring David Horowitz because he expects college students to be able to write?

"The audience was not going to be allowed to field open questions (as was made clear by the 3x5 index cards outside the event that people were asked to write their questions on)"

The requirement to submit written questions was to enable as many people as possible to ask questions. This also prevented people from monopolizing the Q + A with long statements and inflammatory comments. It also prevented the taking of time away from others who also had questions.

When the Leftists realized that their tactic to disrupt the Q + A with their inflammatory comments had been shut down with 3 x 5 cards, they decided to take a more direct step: the actual disruption with uncivil action. The result of such a step was a huge mistake. It hurt the reputation of their cause and caused national embarrassment to the university.

The only speech the Campus Left will permit is speech it approves of. Everything else needs to be muzzled.

What better proof of their two-faced evil? A spokesman for the “National Project to Defend Dissent & Critical Thinking in Academia” brags about shouting-down speakers wiith which he disagrees. US academia really has become sewage. I encourage EVERYONE to not give a dime to colleges who suppress free speech.
